He has just stepped down from his hosting role on US showbiz segment Extra.
So naturally, Mark Wright is overjoyed to be lapping up the spoils of home life as he spoke to MailOnline about his homecoming, his marriage to wife Michelle Keegan and his career plans since returning to the UK.
The 31-year-old TOWIE alum, who is gearing up to host the new series of The Batchelor UK, spoke candidly about the struggle to be taking seriously with a reality star background yet attributed the show for helping him meet his wife.
Opening up: Mark Wright has spoken to MailOnline about his homecoming, his marriage to wife Michelle Keegan and his career plans as he prepares to host The Bachelor UK
Mark shot to fame as one of the original stars of TOWIE in 2010, however departed after two series following a host of dramas including the serialisation of his relationships with Lauren Goodger, Sam Faiers and Lucy Mecklenburgh.
Following his stint on the show, he appeared on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, hosted Take Me Out: The Gossip and danced on Strictly.
His career highlight however was scoring the role on Extra in 2017, where he hosted alongside Mario Lopez and interviewed some of the world's top stars - including Kim Kardashian, Mariah Carey, Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lopez.
Plenty to talk about: The 31-year-old admits he struggled to be taking seriously with a reality star background after beginning his career on The only Way Is Essex
Despite the good times, it has now been revealed that Mark is returning to the UK after nearly two years across the pond and will no longer be in a long-distance relationship with his wife - who has also spent years on location.
Discussing his decision to return, Mark said: 'Weirdly, every time I came home for a week or two I missed it and I really regret it. I'm so happy to be home and I love London more than ever, I've been using it more if that makes sense...
'I love England. It made me realise A - How English I am, and B - How amazing it is. We moan about our country but it's the best country.'
Old times: Mark shot to fame as one of the original stars of TOWIE in 2010, however departed after two series following a host of dramas including the serialisation of his relationships with Lauren Goodger
On moving from the UK, where he as been famous for years, to Los Angeles, where he was relatively little known he said: 'I wouldn't say it was hard going to LA and being lesser known, I would actually say it was nice...
'Going over there was keeping my head down. Americans are workaholics they don't take breaks and everyday is relentless and my job was relentless...
'All morning on set and then a 45 minute drive across town to interview somebody and then I'd go to a premiere that night. I just got my head down and went to the gym, went to work so I didn't really notice my real life not being like that.'
I'll ask the questions: His career highlight however was scoring the role on Extra in 2017, where he interviewed some of the world's top stars (pictured, with Iggy Azalea)
On the highlights of the job, he said: 'I was most starstruck when I interviewed Denzel Washington. That was the one because I love every one of his movies and he was so nice and down-to-earth and he just made it so you don't feel like it's an interview...
'The Kardashians were good because the first time I interviewed Kim was in her friend's house and it was just really intimate and we had no team around her and off-camera she was talking about general life and wanted to know about my life...
'When you interview in a carpet or a junket there's a wall up and it's a job but with that, that was surreal.'
Welcome back: Despite the good times, it has now been revealed that Mark is returning to the UK after nearly two years across the pond and will soon be back on British TV with The Bachelor UK
During their long-distance love, the state of Mark and Michelle's romance has been widely discussed, yet he admits things will now go better once they are together.
He said: 'It will be easy getting back in the swing of things! We won't have to travel 11 hours every week. It's perfect and it makes it more fun knowing we're seeing each other and settled back home.'
While things may be working well in their romance, he insisted kids were not on the menu, saying: 'We have no plans for babies yet, we're both busy with work and have no plans at all at the moment but obviously at some point in the future.'
Cautious: While he is proud of The Only Way Is Essex, Mark admits he doesn't want the show attached to his work as a presenter
Describing their home life, Mark said: 'We love home life, I said it last night while we were cooking dinner. We love cooking and watching films...
'Normal life for us is like date night. We go to the shop, we get our food and we cook it and we choose our film and we just love it. It's like an event for us, just real life we love it. Doors shut, with the dogs, it just never gets old.'
On what made his decision for his return, he said: 'Michelle was my main factor in coming back and she was always visiting me and I was visiting her, she was one of the main factors for sure...
Devoted: The state of his marriage to Michelle Keegan has been widely discussed, yet he admits things will now go better because they are no longer making transatlantic trips to be together
'I wanted to spend more time with her instead of travelling and coming back for weeks at a time. Also, my family, Michelle, work, England itself, everything really. I couldn't do it forever unless she moved there. I was there for nearly two years.'
When asked about his reality star roots and distancing himself from the TOWIE name, Mark said: 'I wouldn't say I want to shed my TOWIE label and I'm no ashamed of TOWIE one bit. I wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for TOWIE. No, I wouldn't be [with Michelle now without TOWIE]...
'I always say this phrase is a show like TOWIE can propel you into earning money for many years it's only a short period of time that that can feed you then you have to think what you're gonna do after it, what's next?...
Homesick: 'I wanted to spend more time with her instead of travelling and coming back for weeks at a time. Also, my family, Michelle, work, England itself, everything really,' he explained of his decision to return to the UK
'What am i gonna do here? It's the easiest way to make money on a show like that but if you want to do something more serious it's not so easy.'
While he is clearly proud of The Only Way Is Essex, Mark admits he doesn't want the show attached to his work as a presenter.
He went on: 'I didn't want to shake off the TOWIE name but I wanted to be taken more seriously. If you're a talented presenter you're a talented presenter...
Bearer of bad tidings: Alex Marks, the new Batchelor, revealed the bevy of stunners on the show 'hate' Mark due to him always baring bad news - yet the star hit back at the comments
'But if you're a reality star and a talented presenter they don't want to give you that until you've really proved yourself.'
With his role on The Batchelor, Mark revealed he could have had a wholly different role on the show, saying: 'They asked me to be The Batchelor about six years ago when Spencer or Gavin did it...
'I turned it down because I didn't think it was right for me. I'd just come out of TOWIE and it was either that option or go into the jungle and I didn't want to carry on that ladies man image and I wanted to peel away from it as soon as possible.

Not true: 'They didn't hate me. I had an amazing relationship with the girls. If you look at their Instagrams they put up pictures of me and are like "OMG Mark is the nicest guy!" he said
Coming soon: The Bachelor UK starts on Monday, March 4 at 10pm on Channel 5
He said: 'They didn't hate me. I had an amazing relationship with the girls. If you look at their Instagrams they put up pictures of me and are like "OMG Mark is the nicest guy!" because I was always there for them and putting my arm around them when they were upset. What he meant was I was the bearer of bad news...
'Me and Alex got on really well, we had a bromance. He needed me! He had him alone and 17 women fighting over him and I know that sounds amazing and the dream. I was there for him to talk to as he was away from his family and friends and he's never been to South Africa so it was nice to have a mate.'
The Bachelor UK starts on Monday, March 4 at 10pm on Channel 5.

The ...
It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
