A terminally ill Connecticut man has had his dying wish fulfilled with a call from President Donald Trump's son.
Jay Barrett, who has cystic fibrosis and has just six months to live, is in palliative care after leaving a hospital last weekend.
One of the items on the 44-year-old's bucket list is to have some sort of contact with President Trump before he dies.
Barrett, who is a big Trump supporter, said he received a special phone call on Monday from Trump's son Eric.
Connecticut man Jay Barrett, who has cystic fibrosis and is only supposed to have six months to live, wanted to have some sort of contact with Donald Trump before he dies. He said he received a special phone call on Monday from Trump's son Eric Trump
'He goes, 'This is Eric Trump. Me and my brothers and sisters. We've all read your story. We're seeing that you're fighting, keep fighting and don't ever quit',' Barrett told NBC CT of his conversation with Eric Trump.
Barrett also received a phone call from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development regional chief Lynne Patton who said she is coming to Connecticut on Saturday to give Barrett a signed gift from the president.
'She said she's going to bring me something, but the expectations are none,' Barrett said. 'It's the thought that counts, not the gift itself.'
Patton, who is from New Haven, reached out to the Trump family after reading a local news story about the dying man's wish.

Barrett's story gained attention when his Democrat sister, West Haven City Councilwoman Bridgette Hoskie, took to social media to try and make her brother's final wishes happen.
Friends and other supporters sent emails to the White House.
Barrett, who for most of his life considered himself an independent, voted for President Barack Obama in 2008, but didn't like many of his polices, including the Affordable Care Act.
Barrett said he came to realize he was a Republican and fell in love with Trump's style at the launch of his campaign, and later, because of his policies.
His original goal was to get to Washington to meet the president in person and shake his hand, but he said he's grateful for anything.
Even though he has been given just six months to live, Barrett said he intends to be around to vote in 2020.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
