«Breaking News» Maisie Williams says nothing could have prepared her for Game Of Thrones ending

Game Of Thrones star Maisie Williams has admitted that nothing could have prepared her for shooting her final scenes for the show's forthcoming eighth and last season.

The actress - who has played Arya Stark in the HBO fantasy series since it first hit screens in 2011 -told Vogue magazine that shooting the mammoth fight scene - which took 55 nights to film and will be the climax to the series - left her 'looking around around asking "what are we doing?"'

'All the training in the world couldn't have prepared me for the amount of stamina you needed for these night shoots,' she told the publication. 'It gets to the point where it's four o'clock in the morning and you're looking around like, "This is ridiculous. What are we doing?"'

Her close friend and co-star Sophie Turner added, of their last day on set: 'I couldn't control myself! I cried for hours and hours once it wrapped.

'It was like leaving behind a character that I've grown up with. It's almost like a death.'

The pair were interviewed by the magazine alongside co-star Lena Headey, who reminised about when she first got the job on the show before it had gone on air yet.

'None of us knew [how big it would be]. You do your audition, you get a job and then you think, "Will anyone watch this?",' she said.

Lena, Maisie and Sophie - who plays Sansa Stark - posed for the fashion tome alongside fellow star Gwendoline Christie, who has portrayed Brienne of Tarth since the show's second season.

The 70-year-old author admitted while he knows 'some' of the plot, the series has made significant departures from his books, which means both he and the fans are being left in the dark.

He told Entertainment Weekly: 'I haven’t read the [final season] scripts and haven’t been able to visit the set because I’ve been working on [next book in the novel series The Winds of Winter].

'I know some of the things. But there’s a lot of minor character [arcs] they’ll be coming up with on their own. And, of course, they passed me several years ago. There may be important discrepancies.'

Since then, the show's writers have taken their own path where the plot is concerned, meaning the series will end differently to the books.

Martin's seventh novel - to be titled A Dream Of Spring - is said to be the final book, but the author has not ruled out the possibility that it won't be.

He also recently revealed he has been so busy working on the sixth book in the series that he had to turn down a cameo appearance in the final season of the TV show, which is set to air next month.

He said: '[Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss] invited me to a cameo in one of the final episodes, which I was tempted to do.

'But I didn’t think just for the sake of a cameo I could take the time to return to Belfast.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
