«Breaking News» Lupita Nyong'o speaks about her personal relationship with #MeToo movement

She's the Hollywood actress who is promoting her new horror movie Us. 

However Lupita Nyong'o took time out to speak about her personal relationship with the #MeToo movement, in Sunday's Stellar magazine. 

Lupita, 36, previously accused Harvey Weinstein of sexually harassing her in 2011 when she was still a drama student.

Lupita told Stellar Magazine that the #MeToo and the #TimesUp movement shows that people banding together leads to real change. 

'Speaking up and out in unison changes things. It moves the consciousness of people,' she said.

'It's about stamina and persistence and consistency, and recognising that the movement is for each individual who identifies with it.' 

Back in October 2017, Lupita accused Harvey Weinstein of sexually harassing her in 2011 when she was still a drama student, in an opinion piece for The New York Times.

Harvey has since disputed Lupita's claims, saying in an official statement that he has a 'different recollection of the events'. 

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Stellar interview, Lupita spoke about preparing for the role of Adelaide Wilson in Jordan Peele's bone-chilling follow-up to Get Out.

She also reflected positively on the birthday present she gave herself last year - a 10-day vow of silence.

'It wasn't the easiest homework - I've learnt how to watch horror films now and not freak out: in the daylight, with noises going on and standing up so you can leave anytime,' she joked.

Us follows a family on holiday at the beach, but their serenity quickly turns to chaos when a group of horrifying doppelgängers begin to terrorise them.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
