James Blunt paid an emotional tribute to The Prodigy's Keith Flint, after news broke that the star had been found dead, aged 49, on Monday.
Taking to Twitter to react to the news, the singer, 45, praised the self-effacing kindness demonstrated by Keith during their one and only meeting, in 2013, which saw The Prodigy star hug James when other industry icons mocked him.
His heartwarming anecdote read: 'At the Q Awards years ago, when @NoelGallagher was saying he was leaving Ibiza because I'd moved there, and @DamonAlbarn refused to be in the same picture as me...

'...and @PaulWeller HQ was saying he'd rather eat his own s**t than work with me, Keith Flint came over, gave me a hug, and said how thrilled he was for my success.
'Keith, I only met you once, but I shed a tear at the news of your death. In our business, there are no prizes for being kind, but if there was, that Grammy would be yours.'
In March 2013, Noel Gallagher confirmed the swirling rumours that he has sold his holiday home in Ibiza to get away from James Blunt.
The former Oasis star owned a property on the sun-soaked Spanish island, and reports had suggested he sold up when he heard the You're Beautiful singer had taken up residence nearby.

Noel was asked about the story in a question-and-answer session with readers of Time Out Dubai magazine, and when asked. 'Is it true you moved out of Ibiza because of James Blunt?' he replied, 'Yes'.
When probed about what Blunt did to upset him, Gallagher added, 'He didn't (upset me). He just moved there. I can't have that.'
James Blunt's heartfelt tribute to Keith Flint came just hours after the star's death was confirmed by police.
Keith was discovered unconscious at his property near Dunmow, Essex at around 8AM on Monday morning, after police were called over what they described as 'concerns for his welfare'.

Paramedics attempted to resuscitate him but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have said they are not treating the death as suspicious.
Flint became one of the faces of 1990s rave when his energetic dance style and punk haircuts made him one of the chart's most recognisable characters. His band were best known for their fast-paced songs including Firestarter, Breathe and Smack My B**** Up.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: 'We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Brook Hill, North End, just after 8.10am on Monday
'We attended and, sadly, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.'

The local ambulance service said they also attended Flint's house after he was found unconscious, but paramedics were unable to save him.
An East of England Ambulance spokeswoman said: 'We were called at 8.08am with reports of a man who was unconscious in Brook Hill, Dunmow.
'We sent an ambulance officer, Essex and Herts Air Ambulance and one ambulance. Sadly a man in his forties died at the scene.'
The Prodigy had recently returned to the UK from a tour of Australia and were planning to head out to South and North America for a series of concerts next month.

They planned to tour a number of festivals in Europe this summer before playing at Clapham's South West Four event in August.
In an interview in November, bandmate Liam Howlett insisted they were not a 'retro band' and strived to give their newest music a freshness.
He said: 'We're not a band that are embarrassed of our roots. We own that sound, we created it. We're not interested in reinventing ourselves, because we're happy with ourselves - we don't need to.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
