A homeless man has been arrested in New York after witnesses say they saw him punch an eight-year-old boy in the back of the head for staring at his packet of chips.
The incident occurred at Fulton Street Station on Monday evening, shortly after the victim - who has autism - and his mother boarded a subway at 8:40 pm.
Without a word, Alex Bienaime, 40, then allegedly struck the boy in the head, in an unprovoked and vicious attack.

The incident happened at Fulton Street Station on Monday evening, shortly after the victim and his mother boarded a train
Bienaime then fled the train carriage and was chased down the platform by a good Samaritan, before disappearing into a crowd.
The victim was taken to a Lower Manhattan hospital where he was treated for swollen bump on his head. Nobody else was injured in the altercation.
NYPD released CCTV captures of the suspect on Tuesday morning, before successfully apprehending him just hours later.
Bienaime was arrested just hours after pictures of him were released by NYPD. Charges are yet to be officially filed
Bienaime has been charged with three counts of acting injurious to a child less than 17-years-old and one count of assault.
Detective George Tsourovakas told DailyMail.com that Bienaime - who is homeless - remains in police custody and will be transported to the Manhattan Central Booking office to be processed.
He will appear before a judge at a later date.
'There was an unprovoked punch.' NYPD Chief of Investigations William Aubry said.
'There's a question as to whether (the suspect) had a bag of potato chips and was the 8-year-old looking at the bag of potato chips, possibly wanting a potato chip.
'These are all things that we are looking into and trying to verify with video.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
