A California grandmother allegedly drowned her grandson hours after his birth before wrapping him in a bag and burying him in the backyard to 'prevent family shame', court documents say.
Beant Kaur Dhillon, 43, is accused of a number of charges including first-degree murder after her 15-year-old daughter suddenly gave birth at their Bakersfield home, in November.
Dhillon pleaded not guilty to all charges on Thursday afternoon. She's expected to reappear in court next week.
According to prosecutors, Dhillon and her 23-year-old nephew, Bakhshinderpal Singh Mann, reportedly discovered that Dhillon's daughter had given birth in the bathroom of their home on Shining Craig Avenue.

Police say she admitted to officers that she then drowned the baby to 'prevent family shame'.
Dhillon and Mann are then said to have worked together to dig a hole in a flower bed of their backyard.
The 15-year-old's father, Jagsir Singh, was also summoned back to the home after the murder.

As a three, they then wrapped the baby in a trash bag, placed him in the hole, and covered his body in salt and soil, documents say.
Dhillon, Singh and Mann allegedly made no attempt to inform police of the baby's birth or death. Dhillon is also said to have neglected to seek medical attention for her daughter.
Dhillon and her alleged accessories then wrapped the baby in a trash bag, placed him in the hole, and covered his body in salt and soil, documents say (pictured: police search the family's garden in 2018)
Bakhshinderpal Singh Mann, 23, is also wanted in relation to the homicide. Police say he removed a GPS tracker and is currently at large
Investigator's have not yet released any information on the baby's father.
Dhillon was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, felony assault of a child resulting in death, and felony child abuse, according to KERO.
Singh was also arrested and charged with accessory to murder and child abuse.
Mann is wanted for his involvement in the homicide. Police currently have an outstanding warrant for his arrest, citing a charge of being an accessory to murder.
He removed a police GPS tracking device and hasn't been seen since, police say.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
