«Breaking News» Former Labour peer Lord Ahmed, 61, arrives at court charged with child rapes

Lord Ahmed has arrived at court charged with two attempted rapes of a girl and an indecent assault on a boy under 13. 

The Rotherham-based peer, 61,  appeared at Sheffield Magistrates Court in a white shirt, black suit and tie.  

Police said he was charged under the name Nazir Ahmed along with two other men from the South Yorkshire town. 

Mohamed Farouq, 68, is charged with four counts of indecent assault; and Mohammed Tariq, 63, faces two counts of indecent assault.

The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed the charges against Ahmed relate to two complainants - a boy and a girl - and to alleged incidents in the early 1970s, when he was a teenager.

The indecent assault charge relates to a 'boy under 13'.

Ahmed was born in Pakistan-governed Kashmir but his political roots are in Rotherham, where he grew up and still lives.

Educated locally, he joined the Labour Party at 18 and served for a decade on Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.

After studying at Sheffield Hallam University, he ran a chain of shops in his home town and became a property developer.

He was made a life peer in 1998 and made regular appearances in the media, where he was often called on to comment on issues facing British Muslims.

Ahmed resigned from the Labour Party in 2013.

All three men are due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
