«Breaking News» EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: How 'Hogwarts heiress' fell under the spell of American hedge fund tycoon

The Duke of Northumberland’s daughter Lady Melissa Percy was devastated when her marriage to Princess Charlotte’s godfather, Thomas van Straubenzee, broke down after less than three years.

Now ‘Missy’ — whose family home, Alnwick Castle, doubles as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films — has a wizard new lover.

He is American hedge fund tycoon Remy Trafelet, 48, who is 17 years her senior.

His reputed £200 million fortune was the subject of a bitter battle when he divorced his Manhattan socialite wife, Lara Schmidt Trafelet, in 2017.

Missy reveals that she has been courted by Trafelet for the past two years. She explains: ‘It all sort of happened at the right time and we have so much in common. I’m super-happy.’

Trafelet’s wife, 49, with whom he has three children, was so enraged by their break-up that she reportedly instructed forensic accountants to ‘kick him between his legs and bring him to his knees’.

Lady Melissa, whose family also own Syon House in West London, is now living with Trafelet in New York. He should have little trouble keeping her in the style to which she’s accustomed.

He and his ex-wife owned a grouse-shooting estate in Scotland and a quail farm in Georgia, as well as four other properties including an £11.3 million flat in Park Avenue and a £7.6 million Long Island summer home.

They also enjoyed the services of a personal trainer, chauffeur, assistant, and private chef. Plus, a private jet for ‘ultra-luxury vacations that cost as much as £300,000 in a single year’.

The smart set's talking about...Beautiful brainbox Olympia Campbell

Genial Old Etonian businessman Roddy Campbell once joked that he didn’t know why he had spent £250,000 educating his two daughters, Edie and Olympia, at top private schools when they had gone on to become models.

So he’ll be delighted to learn that Mulberry mannequin Olympia, 23, is celebrating after winning funding to study for a PhD in Biosocial Research at University College London.

‘Olympia must be this country’s cleverest model,’ gushes a pal.

Educated at £19,000-per-year City of London School for Girls, Olympia hopes to end up working in ‘policy, the development industry or politics’. Raised by Roddy and his ex-wife, architect Sophie Hicks, Olympia studied Human Sciences at UCL, graduating last year.

She and Burberry model Edie, 28, do enjoy letting their hair down, too. They once hosted a joint birthday party where the dress code was ‘Absolute Filth’. Their father entered into the spirit, slipping into a lady’s black swimsuit, bunny ears and fishnets.

India Hicks and a stitch in time for mum's 90th

Princess Diana's bridesmaid India Hicks has written amusingly about how she had stockpiled all the birthday presents from her godfather, Prince Charles. And it seems she’s been doing the same with her mum’s old dresses.

The designer used the 90th birthday party of her mother, Lady Pamela Hicks, to give one of her society frocks an airing.

‘It has not seen the light of day for 30 years,’ India declares. ‘We shook off the dust, removed the neck, adjusted the length and cinched the waist.’

Lady Pamela, daughter of the 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, recognised it immediately. ‘She still has a beady eye,’ adds India.

HM heads back to school for Sophie

The Queen is looking forward to a real family day of engagements next Thursday.

Not only is she making an official visit to art dealers Hauser & Wirth, of which her granddaughter Princess Eugenie is director, but she’s also visiting a school close to the heart of her favourite daughter-in-law, the Countess of Wessex.

She has agreed to open a new music faculty at King’s Bruton school, alma mater of Sophie’s father, Christopher Rhys-Jones. He’s helped organise the event.

‘The Queen has become very close to Chris ever since his wife died 13 years ago,’ a friend tells me. ‘He often escorts her to functions and she invites him to dinners to meet her single ladies-in-waiting.’

(Very) modern manners

Oscar winner Sir Ben Kingsley has always denied insisting that people use his title. But producers demand underlings refer to him as ‘Sir Ben’ nevertheless, according to distinguished film editor Tariq Anwar.

‘At the start of production, like all the heads of department, I was given a memo sent to all cast and crew, that he was to be addressed as “Sir Ben Kingsley”,’ says Anwar, who worked with him on the 2005 film Mrs Harris. ‘It was disappointing to think those rumours about him were true.

‘There was much rolling of eyes behind his back on set but I’m sure that he was blithely unaware of that.’

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
