«Breaking News» Colorado man arrested for throwing a glass of water at Iowa Rep. Steve King

A Colorado man has been arrested for allegedly throwing water on Rep. Steve King as he was dining at a restaurant in Iowa. 

The Iowa Congressman was dining in Fort Dodge when 26-year-old Blake Gibbins approached and allegedly tossed a glass of water at him, drenching King. 

The incident took place around 12.30pm on Friday at Mineral City Mill and Grill, where King was dining with a group of people.  

Witness accounts led police to believe King was specifically targeted because of his position as a Congressman. 

Gibbins, of Lafayette, Colorado, was visiting family in the area and didn't know that King would be in the restaurant, according to CBS.

Gibbins was arrested on Friday and charged with two counts of simple assault and one count of disorderly conduct. All the charges are misdemeanors. 

Fort Dodge Police were called to the restaurant where they discovered 'the intended victim, Rep. Steve King, was having a group lunch when an unknown male approached their table.'

The water hit King and some of the others he was eating with, cops said. 

The incident follows King's incendiary comments about Hurricane Katina survivors during a town hall meeting that sparked major backlash online and among politicians. 

The incident took place at Mineral City Mill and Grill in Fort Dodge Iowa on Friday around 12.30pom

On Thursday during a town hall in his district he suggested that Hurricane Katrina disaster victims were desperate for asking for government assistance after the storm. 

He painted the New Orleans storm victims in a poor light saying they asked the government 'who's gonna help me' while Iowans 'take care of each other' after the state was inundated with devastating flooding this month. 

He didn't mention race, but is known for his controversial comments on race. 

His comments led to intense backlash and Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards, responded to King's comments saying his portrayal of Katrina survivors were 'disgusting and disheartening'. 

Louisiana Rep. Cedric Richmond slammed King as a 'white supremacist', adding 'I won't stand for it'.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
