«Breaking News» Armed police locked in stand-off with 'gunman' in south London street 

Armed police are locked in a stand-off with a man believed to have a gun be threatening to kill people in south London. 


Officers taped off streets in Addiscombe, Croydon at around 9am today after the man was said to be abusing locals and threatening to kill people. 


Police are still negotiating with the suspect five hours later with the area on lockdown.

Local resident Sam Novell tweeted: 'Anyone in and around Addiscombe stay away. Bloke with gun walking around. Police trying to find him. Mums locked in work!'


Another Twitter user wrote: 'So my mum's work in Addiscombe has been blocked off as a man with a gun is walking around the main road outside all cordoned off now by police! Wtf is wrong with people!' 


A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said that at this stage there is no evidence of any terrorism element and the incident is believed to be domestic. 


Police tweeted: 'Police were called shortly after 08:30hrs today by a man threatening to harm people. 


'Officers, including armed officers, attended and located the man in a car in Pagehurst Road, Addiscombe. 


'Officers remain with the man and are attempting to peacefully resolve the incident.'

Police said the man claims to have a gun but no firearm has yet been seen.


The force said in a statement: 'Police were called at 8.32am on Tuesday March 19, by a man who stated he would kill people.


'Officers attended Pagehurst Road near the junction with Addiscombe Road, Addiscombe.


'A man was found in a car at the location and when approached he intimated he had a firearm.


'Armed officers, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade have attended the scene. Officers are attempting to peacefully resolve the situation.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
