«Breaking News» Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defers to party leadership on impeachment talk

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has backed down on impeachment talk related to President Donald Trump, saying she will defer to Democrat party leadership on the issue. 

The freshman Congresswoman also emphasized on Monday that she was not putting pressure on her party leadership to impeach the President.

'I've always been very clear that I'm supportive and how I would vote in terms of impeachment. I understand that leadership may want to build a stronger case and subpoena more records or figure out what's happening, perhaps in the Mueller investigation,' Ocasio-Cortez said.

'I defer to the chair. I defer to party leadership.

'I certainly believe there's been enough misconduct happening out of this office that would be unbecoming of any president.' 

The progressive lawmaker has previously been vocal on wanting to impeach Trump and has made it known how she would vote if it came to it. 

She told CNN last year that she believed 'we have the grounds to do it'.

'Ultimately, I think that what we need to kind of focus on is ensuring that when people break the law, potentially break the law, that we have to hold everyone accountable and that no person is above that law,' she said at the time. 

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi dismissed talk of impeachment just last week following testimony from Trump's former personal attorney Michael Cohen.

The progressive lawmaker has previously been vocal on wanting to impeach Trump and has made it known how she would vote if it came to it

Pelosi said she wanted to see more evidence of presidential wrongdoing before making a decision. 

Ocasio-Cortez, who made the impeachment comments during a press conference at her congressional office in New York, also spoke about wanting to remain focused on aspects of the Russia investigation that apply to her Oversight committee. 

'You hear the president say 'no collusion, no collusion, no collusion, right?' she said. 

'He's always talking about the focus on the relationship between his campaign and Russia which is, the scope of that investigation is under the House Intelligence Committee as well as several other investigatory bodies.

'So, while he's talking collusion, collusion, collusion - I think, in Oversight, we should be talking about taxes, taxes, taxes and his bank account, bank account, his bank account – his financial statement, statement, statement.

'That's where I think actually some of the most troubling practices are with direct relevance to the American people under the scope of oversight.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
