«Breaking News» Rihanna's producer says her new album ANTI is a 'game changer'

Rihanna's ANTI is her 'magnum opus.'

The 31-year-old singer took three years to create her 2016 album and the star's vocal producer Kuk Harrell believes it is her best work to date, calling it a 'game-changer.'

'ANTI is absolutely her magnum opus - it was a game-changer,' he told Billboard. 'I think [the album] made everybody get back to a point where they took their craft seriously as opposed to the cookie-cutter rhythmic stuff.

'They didn't just jump in the studio, put four bars together and sing a hook over it. In this album, you can hear that we focused a lot on detail.'

Kuk first worked with Rihanna on her 2007 single Umbrella, which he co-wrote with his cousin Tricky Stewart [founder of Atlanta's music production company RedZone Entertainment] and The-Dream and he believes ANTI showed fans who Rihanna is an artist.

He said: 'Rihanna has always known who she as an artist, but with ANTI she developed more of what she wanted her music to convey.

'For this, she drilled down in making sure she made the right calls for every single song. This particular album took three years to create, and that caused intensity because the fans wanted to listen to it so badly and kept asking when it was coming.

'I don't focus on that stuff at all because you start to hear that [pressure] in your music. You can't dictate feeling. So if you start calculating it, people will notice that.

'But we all just wanted to make sure that it was the right album and exactly what Rihanna wanted it to be. She led all of us to a great place.

'Her vocals didn't surprise me due to the fact that I've worked with her for so many years, so I always knew what she was capable of. I was excited when we were cutting songs like 'Higher'.

'When she started hitting those high notes, I was like "Woah, we're actually doing this!" We're always pushing the envelope and doing something different; I wanted to bring out the best aspect of her voice in a way that isn't too much.'

This comes after the beauty voiced her support for Colin Kaepernick during the Super Bowl in February.

The 30-year-old pop star previously rejected the chance to headline this year's Super Bowl halftime show amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Kaepernick's take-a-knee movement, which protests against racial inequality in the US.

On the day of the game, Rihanna poked fun at a passenger on-board a flight she was travelling on, as he asked whether he'd be able to watch the showpiece sporting occasion from his seat.

The Bajan star called the passenger a 'weirdo' and on her Instagram Stories, she was seen making various facial expressions to show that she was unimpressed by his request.

Hours later, Rihanna reiterated her support for Kaepernick - a former NFL player - by sharing an illustrated drawing of the sportsman.

The caption read: 'For those of you who thought I was watchin the Super Bowl... we beefin (sic)'

He sure knows how to talk up an album: 'When she started hitting those high notes, I was like "Woah, we're actually doing this!" We're always pushing the envelope and doing something different; I wanted to bring out the best aspect of her voice in a way that isn't too much,' gushed the producer

In the end, this year's Super Bowl halftime show was played by Maroon 5, who were joined on stage at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, by Travis Scott and OutKast rapper Big Boi.

The band were widely criticised for agreeing to play the gig, but frontman Adam Levine recently defended the decision, saying that he gave the issue serious consideration before he committed to playing the halftime show.

The singer - who is married to model Behati Prinsloo - said: 'No one thought about it more than I did.

'No one put more thought and love into this than I did. I spoke to many people, most importantly though, I silenced all the noise and listened to myself, and made my decision about how I felt.'

‘ANTI is absolutely her magnum opus ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
