Leading Remainer Nick Boles today warned his hard Brexiteer Tory colleagues to 'take the win' and vote for Theresa May's deal or face him and his allies delaying the withdrawal date and forcing a soft Brexit.

Mrs May needs to convince 65 European Research Group (ERG) rebels to back her modified agreement, which includes 'legally binding changes' to the Irish backstop to avoid Britain being trapped in the EU customs union.

Addressing them this morning, Mr Boles tweeted: 'I hope they won’t mind some frank advice from one who is a colleague to all and a friend to some. Do yourselves a favour. Take the win. Vote for the deal.'

He continued: 'If you don’t, people like me will conclude that you will never be satisfied, that you aren’t open to compromise, that you are hell-bent on forcing the UK to crash out of the EU without a deal.

'We will then do whatever it takes to frustrate you. We will vote to stop no-deal Brexit on 29th March. We will vote to extend Article 50 for a few months. And we will then work with opposition parties to build a majority for a softer Brexit deal.'

The Prime Minister last night announced 'legally binding changes' to the controversial Irish border backstop after a dramatic dash to Strasbourg and last-minute talks with Jean-Claude Juncker.

She made a direct pitch to MPs at 11.30am and hopes the changes to her deal will be enough to win backing for her plan from rebel Tory Brexiteers and the DUP in the meaningful vote tonight and secure Britain's exit from the EU on March 29.

However, her plans received a major blow this morning after Attorney General Geoffrey Cox announced he was still of the opinion that Britain risked being stuck in the backstop 'indefinitely'.

This outcome had previously be predicted by shadow Brexit Secretary Sir Keir Starmer.

He tweeted after the announcement: 'Attorney General confirms that there have been no significant changes to the Withdrawal Agreement despite the legal documents that were agreed last night. The Government's strategy is now in tatters.'

Mr Cox said the new provisions 'reduce the risk' of the UK being 'indefinitely and involuntarily' held in the backstop, but said that 'the legal risk remains unchanged' that the UK would have no legal means of exiting without EU agreement.

However, he said his 'political judgement' was still to back Mrs May's deal because it was 'highly unlikely' an arrangement to leave the backstop would not be included.

This will be unlikely to convince members of the ERG such as David Davis, who earlier said his support was conditional on the Attorney General changing his legal advice.

Earlier, Mr Cox dismissed as 'bollocks' a suggestion that he had been pressured into finding a way to change his legal advice.

Mr Boles, one of the most vocal critics of a No Deal, suggested he would team up with Labour Remainers to secure a soft Brexit if Tory Brexiteers did not back Mrs May.

He added: 'We are just as committed to our cause as you are to yours. We have learned to ignore the whips and shrug off deselection threats. And one last thing: with our friends on the opposition benches there are many more of us than you.

'I really hope that we can come together this evening and walk through the Aye lobby side by side. Let’s put this nightmare behind us. But if you won’t, please don’t say I didn’t warn you about what comes next.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
