«Breaking News» Quick-thinking teenagers save an eight-year-old boy who falls from a chairlift

A group of teenagers came to the rescue of an eight-year-old boy as he fell from a chairlift at a Vancouver ski resort.

Video shows the eight-year-old dangling from the side of a chairlift on Grouse Mountain some 25-feet in the air, holding onto his father, after he slipped.

One of the teenagers, 14-year-old James Macdonald, told CNN he didn't think the boy could hold on for very long, but his quick-thinking saved the boy from serious injury.

Despite shaky camera footage the boy can be clearly seen dangling from the chairlift

The boy's father clings onto his son for as long as he was able to before he lost his grip

The eight-year-old boy was dangling and eventually lost his grip

He asked a nearby man to get some orange netting which is normally used to mark out where the skiing boundaries are.

'He was starting to flail about and get extremely panicked,' Macdonald told CNN. 

Macdonald said his friends, Gabriel Neilson, and 12-year-old Josh Ravensbergen, had been skiing down the mountain when they offered to help along with a man and a woman who were close by. 

Neilson tried to calm down the boy as he stripped off padding from a pole and placed it on the netting to give it more support. 

A group of fellow skiers grabbed nearby orange plastic netting for which to catch the boy

He fell from the chair left but a group of teenagers were standing below with netting to cushion his fall

The boy fell from the chairlift and ended up landing right in the center of the netting

Quick-thinking skiers used some of the plastic netting to in order to use it as a safety net

Neilson told the boy to remove his skis and then asked the boy's dad to release his grip.

After the father let go, the boy fell safely into the padding that was being held by around 10 other people. 

A cheer rang out as the boy was safely caught. 

The boy was then sent to hospital as a precautionary measure although the boy suffered no serious injuries. 

As a reward, the boys were each given a complimentary season pass from the president of Grouse Mountain, Michael Cameron, said Julia Grant, spokesperson for Grouse Mountain.

Some orange plastic netting was used along with some foam in an effort to soften the boy's fall

Some foam from around the chair lift poles was also used to cushion the boy's fall

The little boy can be seen still on the floor after his fall. He was taken to hospital for a check-up

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
