«Breaking News» Ocasio-Cortez slams all ‘racist tropes’ which lead to 'white supremacy and classism'

US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez used Twitter to blast 'racist tropes' in any capacity and all bigotry which leads to 'white supremacy and classism'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has hit back at what she implies is disingenuous concern about racist tropes from conservatives, instead condemning all bigotry that serves 'white supremacy and classism'.   

The New York Representative took to Twitter to defend fellow freshman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, who has recently come under fire for her stance questioning the U.S.' relationship with Israel.

Ocasio-Cortez replied on Wednesday morning to a tweet yesterday by journalist Ryan Grim, which called out Republican House Minority Whip Steve Scalise for his comments on Omar.

'Here is Steve Scalise, who literally spoke at a white supremacist convention, saying that @Ilhan should not be getting intelligence briefings, suggesting she is a mole or otherwise dangerous,' Grim wrote. 

'And Congress plans to rebuke...@Ilhan. History will not look kindly on this moment.'

At midnight, Ocasio-Cortez added her voice to the fray - seemingly to agree with Grim: 'If we're so concerned about implied tropes, why aren't we concerned about this one?

In a series of tweets early on Wednesday morning, the 29-year-old Rep. from New York called out President Trump's border wall for purporting racist tropes that Latino immigration is dangerous, while also condemning Democrats for 'compromising' and accepting 'racism as realpolitik' in America 

'Where was the concern last week when 26 Dems voted for a GOP amendment to expand ICE powers rooted in the racist + false trope that Latino immigrants are more dangerous than US born citizens?'

She then continued her criticism of President Trump's border wall and slammed Democrats who were 'willing to "compromise" & spend BILLIONS on a trope because we've accepted some kinds of racism as realpolitik in America.'

In her final tweet, Ocasio-Cortez denied that she was using 'whataboutism' - or trying to point the finger at Republicans in order to undermine their fierce criticism of Omar.  

Instead, she argued, racism and bigotry of all kinds are 'inextricably linked' and allowing it in some forms will only sow division. 

'When you don’t address them as a system and attempt to pick them apart as though they are distinct and separable issues, eventually the thing that gets advanced is white supremacy + classism,' she added.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
