«Breaking News» Moose is mistaken for burglar after crashing into Colorado home

It turned from nightmare to relief for one Colorado family who heard a crash in the night - only to find a furry surprise.

The family's guests thought someone had broken in to the Breckenridge home when they heard the sound of broken glass.

But when police arrived on the scene, it wasn't a burglar they discovered. It was an adult moose.

She crashed through a window in the home's basement, waking up the family and their guests inside.

The moose did not suffer any major injuries and was able to walk around before finding herself a nice place to rest in one of the rooms of the home.

Video shows that the moose made a bit of a mess during her visit, but was calm when Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers arrived on the scene.

The officers tranquilized the moose so that they could move her through the home's tight stairwell.

Officers from the Breckenridge Police Department and Red, White & Blue Fire District were also on hand to help.

'It's not easy to maneuver in a tight space while trying to carry such a large, heavy animal,' CPW Wildlife Manager Elissa Slezak in a statement.

'The team worked with us to haul the moose up the stairs and get it out of the house.'

After they got the moose upstairs, responding officers took her to a waiting trailer where the tranquilizer was successfully reversed. The moose was then released into prime moose habitat in Grand County.

'Think you're having a rough Friday? Homeowners and @BreckPolice were surprised this morning when a suspected home invasion turned out to be...an adult cow moose,' one tweet read.

'We were called in to take the lead on getting this trespasser out of the basement and into more suitable - though maybe a bit less comfortable - habitat.'

'After getting a quick glimpse of how the humans live, this moose will now be relocated to prime moose habitat.'

CPW also recommended that residents cover their window wells to keep 'unexpected visitors' from falling into their home.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
