A man with bipolar disorder was arrested for allegedly killing his service dog by stabbing him more than 100 times.
Police said Jacob Bushkin, 27, called family members on Monday morning to tell them that his four-year-old service dog, a Golden Retriever named Cub, was dead at his home in a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona.
Cub's body was found in a trash can and his family members took it to the veterinarian, police said.
The vet then called both the Arizona Humane Society (AHS) and Scottsdale Police Department. Cub was an Arizona State Qualified Service Animal.

AHS took custody of the dead dog and transported the body to Midwestern University in Glendale for a necropsy, which is an autopsy for animals.
A spokesman for Scottsdale Police Department told Dailymail.com that Bushkin has mental health issues including bipolar disorder.
It is understood that he told police that he was off his medication at the time of the incident.

A necropsy on the dog revealed he was stabbed more than 100 times and a veterinarian said the dog's throat had been cut
The necropsy on the dog revealed he was stabbed more than 100 times and was alive when the attack occurred, police said.
Detectives attempted to contact Bushkin by phone, but he refused to talk with them, the police statement said.
A search warrant was executed at the home where evidence of the crime was reportedly found.
Bushkin was taken into custody Thursday night on charges of killing a service animal and animal cruelty, both felonies.

Police say Bushkin declined to speak with investigators and that detectives arrested him at the office of his lawyer, Ryan Tait.
Tait declined to comment on the allegations. Several pictures on Bushkin's Facebook page show the dog posing adorably from the time he was a puppy.
Bushkin posted a picture online of Cub when he was a couple of weeks old in July 2014.
There is also a picture of Bushkin holding Cub while sitting on a couch in December 2017.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
