«Breaking News» Heartbreak as body of 19-year-old woman is found on banks of Cornish river

The devastated parents of a 19-year-old woman whose body was discovered on a river bank on Friday have paid tribute to their 'wonderful and cherished daughter'.

Pearl Bamford, from Bude, was discovered by a passerby on the river bank in Truro, Cornwall, on Friday morning.

In a statement her family said: 'Pearl was a beautiful unique creative young woman with a great future ahead of her.

'She shone brightly and her light will be sorely missed. Her family and friends are mourning the tragic and untimely loss of their wonderful cherished daughter and friend.'

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said enquiries into her death have been completed and police are waiting for the results of a formal post-mortem.

They added: 'Her family are aware of these developments and this death is currently being treated as unexplained; this matter is not thought to be suspicious.'

Emergency services were first called to the scene behind the large Tesco store at around 10am after a member of the public made the tragic discovery.

A major search, which included the police and coastguard helicopters, coastguard search teams, an RNLI lifeboat and specialist police officers, was carried out throughout the day.

Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the teenager at the scene but she was pronounced dead in hospital a short time later.

Cornwall has been left shocked and saddened by the news, with many on Facebook leaving messages of support and condolence to her family.

Posting on Facebook, one social media said: 'My heart goes out to this lady's family, rip dear soul,' while another wrote: 'Thoughts are with her loved ones x.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
