«Breaking News» Fitness trainer tests out Victoria's Secret 'thigh gap' workout

A fitness instructor has tried and tested the Victoria's Secret 'thigh gap' workout and documented her experience in a video she later shared to her YouTube channel.

Toronto-based workout guru Keltie O'Connor completed the four day workout that incorporated several different pieces of equipment, all of which aimed to help define and tone the thighs, tighten the core and grow the glutes.

At the end of the four-day workout, the fitness guru said that although she thinks the workout is a 'great place to start', she concluded that a thigh gap 'is just genetics'.

The P.volve method is a workout that aims to 'help people transform their bodies through sustainable methods that create incredible tone and definition without straining, damaging or bulking muscles'.

Created by the trainer to the ever-glamorous Victoria's Secret Angels, Stephen Pasterino, it was specifically to tone and strengthen the body.

Each day of the four-day challenge required Keltie, who regularly shares fitness tips and tricks to her Instagram page, to use different equipment.

Day one saw her attaching weighted ankle bands to her ankles, before performing a number of leg raises while wearing the bands.

She began by standing facing toward the camera and balancing on one foot while lifting and raising the other food to the side. She then did the same move, but this time lifting one foot behind her while balancing on the opposite foot.

While doing the exercises, Keltie said: 'It's good because it forces you to use your balance and your core.'

She then performed a number of knee raises, which saw her raising her leg while it was bent.

At the end of the first day of exercises, Keltie said: 'I felt that deep in there. You're forcing [yourself] to be balanced when you're on one foot, and you have to engage those muscles, your glutes.'

She added that the workout requires you to do each exercise 'a few times' but she said that she felt she would need to do more reps 'to feel the benefits'.

Day two involved using gliders for a number of exercises, including lateral lunges, which she began with.

She then did another variation of what looked like a lateral lunge, this time focusing on 'pulling in' and working the inner thighs.

Concentration: Day three saw Keltie using the P.ball as she placed it between her inner thighs and performed a number of exercises

Concluding her first two workouts, Keltie said: 'The first day I definitely felt was more my glutes and outer thighs. The second day was a bit more of my hip flexors and inner thighs.'

For the third day of the challenge, Keltie used the P.volve p.ball - described on the website as 'a revolutionary piece of equipment that uses an inflated ball and an elastic band to activate hard-to-reach muscles for dramatic results'.

To use the contraption, Keltie placed her legs into it and pulled it up to sit just above her knees.

While wearing the p.ball, Keltie did a number of glute bridges 'with a squeeze' - which she says are some of the best exercises for 'growing your booty'.

She then carried out some other exercises aimed at focusing on the inner thighs, including side leg raises.

Concluding her third day of the workout, and speaking about the p.ball, she said: 'I actually really like this ball. The exercises worked enough for me to feel.

'I think it would be good for a beginner to learn about the muscle, mind, body connection,' she added.

For the fourth and final day of the workout, Keltie placed ankle weights on her ankles.

While wearing the weights, she performed several leg raises facing forward and side-on.

Concluding the video and the workout, Keltie reviewed the entire workout, revealing that she thinks it would be well suited to beginners looking to learn more about the core and abs.

She explained: 'I think this is a great place to start and learn to properly engage your core and abs.'

And although she enjoyed the workout, she doesn't promote working out solely to try to achieve a 'thigh gap' as such.

She said: 'A thigh gap is one of those things... Work on growing your glutes, be proud of that, it's something you can earn.

'A thigh gap is just genetics. There's nothing glamorous, it literally is just this weird trend that people use as a bench mark of how skinny you are.

'I won't lie, I'm thin. I always have been, but I don't have a thigh gap. Training for a thigh gap, there's so many more fun ways to do it,' she added.

She continued: 'I do think this is beneficial for really engaging your leg muscles and core. But if you don't have a thigh gap, love yourself.

'If you have a thigh gap, love yourself. You shouldn't be embarrassed by it.

'You might have a tiny waist. You might have some natural curve to you lady. You might have a six pack easier than anyone.

'You might have really strong calves for someone who has never done calf raises - that was the genetics I was given,' she said.

The workout was created by Stephen Pasterino, a fitness instructor best known for working with Victoria's Secret models.

Stephen, the founder of the P.volve studio in New York City, is also known for his controversial 'thigh gap' fitness classes that he began hosting in 2017.

Described on the website, the P.volve method is designed to help 'elongate your shape and build strength without bulk, to help you carve out the most perfect body that’s right for you'.

The website also details the philosophy behind the workout, as written by Stephen.

He said: 'After 15 years immersed in the world of fitness, studying applied functional science at the internationally acclaimed Gray Institute, and honing an entirely new, science-based workout method for celebrity clients and Victoria’s Secret models, I realized I had a true passion for helping all women discover their best selves so they can live their best lives.'

The site further details that the P.volve method is all about making women feel lean, strong, naturally proportioned and confident.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
