«Breaking News» Eight-bedroom country mansion on Loch Ness on sale for £490,000 (same price as one-bed London flat)

A country mansion on the banks of Loch Ness has gone on the market for £490,000 - the same price as a one-bedroom flat in south London.

Foyers Bay House is an eight-bedroom home on the quieter side of the loch, away from the tourists and 'Nessie hunters.'

It is in a secluded woodland location but does have views of the famous lake, so the new owners may be able to do some Nessie spotting themselves.

The property is now on the market with estate agents Bell Ingram.

For the same asking price it is possible to buy a one-bedroom flat in Battersea, south London, or a studio flat of just 333sq ft in Chelsea.

The Victorian villa in Scotland was built in 1890 and has retained many original features including ornate fireplaces and large bay windows.

It has been run as a B&B for a number of years and could continue trading as one, or equally it could be reverted back to being a large family home, or even a sporting lodge.

The house is currently laid out with an entrance hall, dining room, conservatory/restaurant, seven en suite bedrooms and one additional bedroom accessed through another, as well as the owner's accommodation with private sitting room, en suite bedroom, kitchen, fridge room and laundry.

The property sits in gardens of about an acre, which are a haven for wildlife and regularly attracts birds, deer, squirrels and pine martens.

Although the house is secluded it is not too farm from amenities with a medical centre and primary school approximately a 15 minute walk away

The house is in the village of Lower Foyers, close to the south side of Loch Ness. It has plenty of privacy and seclusion and is surrounded by stunning scenery.

It is an ideal base for walking, riding, fishing and boating activities.

The village has a small shop and cafe, post office, medical centre, nursery and primary school, with more facilities 19 miles away in Inverness.

Joanne Stennett, from Bell Ingram, said: 'Foyers is quite a quiet place, it's a nice part of Inverness, down the other side of the loch where not everybody goes.

'The Loch Ness Exhibition Centre is on the other side, so this is away from the tourists and everyone going Nessie hunting - it's a good place to escape if you want to avoid that.

'You're surrounded by woodland and there's lots of great woodland walks, it's a really pretty spot.

'But you can see the loch through the trees from the upstairs bedrooms.

'It has been run as a B&B for quite some time but it could be used for a number of different uses, the accommodation is quite versatile.

'It's quite big but it could be turned back into a large private home or it would make a good boating lodge.

'What you can get for your money up here is phenomenal compared to London.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
