Atlanta Hawks forward Vince Carter wants to return for an NBA record 22nd season next year, when he will be 43-years old.
As the eight-time All-Star and former NBA Rookie of the Year told ESPN on Thursday, the man known as 'Vinsanity' says he sees no reason to retire.
'I think I could stretch it out one more,' said Carter, who will be a free agent this summer. 'At the end of the year, I usually assess from top to bottom to see how I'm feeling. And, obviously, opportunity—when the phone call rings and teams show interest, that's a good thing.'
He continued: 'Me, personally, I think I could give it another year, so why not? We'll see what happens.'

Carter is currently shooting a career-high 40.9 percent from three-point range, although he's only scoring 7.1 points in 16.6 minutes a game this year. For his career, he's averaged 17.3 ppg
After signing a one-year, $2.4 million deal with Atlanta in July, Carter stands alongside Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki as the only players remaining from the 1998 NBA Draft. The two have tied retired players Robert Parish, Kevin Willis and Kevin Garnett for the most seasons played in NBA history at 21.
Nowitzki has not ruled out a return in 2019-20 either.
Carter is currently shooting a career-high 40.9 percent from three-point range, and while he's only scoring 7.1 points in 16.6 minutes a game this year, the 6foot7 forward is still managing to dunk consistently on players who were in diapers when his career began in Toronto in 1998.
Chicago Bulls 7foot power forward Lauri Markkanen (born in 1997) and Minnesota Timberwolves swingman Andrew Wiggins (born in 1995) are just some of Carter's recent victims this season.
Of course, Carter's most famous dunk came in the 2000 Sydney Olympics when he actually launched himself over France's Frederic Weis, a New York Knicks draft pick who stands 7foot2. Team USA's Jason Kidd called it 'one of the best plays I've ever seen' and the French press later dubbed it 'le dunk de la mort' (the dunk of death).
Officially Carter's vertical was measured at 43 inches in his younger days, compared to 48 inches for Michael Jordan, and he famously won the 2000 NBA Dunk Contest. (At this year's dunk contest, Oklahoma City's Hamidou Diallo emulated one of Carter's memorable dunks from that victory)

But as impressive as his sustained athleticism has been, Carter says he has remained in the NBA because he learned to be a good teammate.
As he told ABC during the 2016 NBA Finals, Carter began as a scorer in high school, but learned to play a more team-oriented game as he progressed under his college coach, North Carolina's Dean Smith.
'When I was a junior in high school, I scored more points than in my senior year,' he said. 'And I remember reading some of the blogs that they said, "Oh, maybe he's not the scorer we thought he was."
'But in my mind, I wanted to up my rebounding and my assists, but also [to] feature some of the other guys on my team so they get an opportunity to go to college. That's where it started.
'For whatever reason, it wasn't something that somebody told me,' he continued. 'It was something I wanted to do. And I had appreciation for everybody on the team really fulfilling their dreams and getting that equal opportunity, whatever level that would have been. So that's where it started. Coach Smith definitely instilled that into us during my college time. It's just something that's always been a part of me.'

‘I think...
It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
