A woman has shared her disgust after she found a caterpillar in her food while dining at Toby Carvery.
Robyn Phillips from Boreham, Essex, was enjoying a meal at the restaurant in nearby Chelmsford on Friday September 28 when she spotted what she initially thought to be a maggot in her dish.
She posted a picture of the gruesome sight on Facebook, writing: 'Just to let everyone know, I would not eat in Chelmsford Toby Carvery as I found a big maggot in my food.
'Not what I expect when I go out for a meal, disgusting. I won't be going back there again. If anyone wants to share the post then feel free as I think people should know.'

Robyn (pictured) posted a picture of the gruesome sight on Facebook, writing: 'Just to let everyone know, I would not eat in Chelmsford Toby Carvery as I found a big maggot in my food'
Robyn had been dining at the Toby Carvery brand on Dukes Lane near to Chelmer Village, and claims she found a hair on her plate as in addition to the creepy-crawly and had refused to pay for her meal.
After making a formal complaint, she updated her Facebook status to say: 'Just to let everyone [know] someone went in there today and the manager confirmed it was a caterpillar! And that apparently it happens a lot!
'Unacceptable! If anyone has been there and is unwell... report it like I have ASAP!!'
Her post has since gone viral, racking up 6,400 shares and hundreds of 'likes' and comments on Facebook from fellow diners.
One wrote: 'That's horrible. I hope you reported it,' while others branded the sight of the dead caterpillar as 'disgusting'.

A spokesperson for the restaurant chain said: 'Although it is extremely rare to find caterpillars in produce, we appreciate guests may have been concerned.'
They added: 'We want to take the opportunity to reassure them that maintaining high food safety standards is very important to all at Toby Carvery.'
It has been reported that the incident is being investigated by the local authority.
Chelmsford City Council have been approached for comment.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
