«Breaking News» Trump renews his claim of 'an invasion' at the southern border after visit to Rio Grande

President Donald Trump kept up his rhetorical alarm about the southern border, calling it an 'invasion' following his trip to the southern border.

Trump's pronouncement is about more than riling up his base: the administration also could be laying the rhetorical framework for an official declaration of a national emergency, which Trump says he might invoke.

That could allow him to try to reprogram funds authorized by Congress for other purposes, if he fails to secure his $5.7 billion demand for funding a border wall through normal appropriations amid a standoff.

'I just got back and it is a far worse situation than almost anyone would understand, an invasion!' President Trump tweeted following his trip to the southern border

'Humanitarian Crisis at our Southern Border,' Trump proclaimed on Twitter Friday on the 21st day of a government shutdown.

'I just got back and it is a far worse situation than almost anyone would understand, an invasion!' he continued. Then he went after his Democratic negotiating partners, having abruptly ended a meeting with them and Republican leaders earlier this week.

'I have been there numerous times - The Democrats, Cryin’ Chuck and Nancy don’t know how bad and dangerous it is for our ENTIRE COUNTRY...The Steel Barrier, or Wall, should have been built by previous administrations long ago.'

Trump added: 'They never got it done - I will. Without it, our Country cannot be safe. Criminals, Gangs, Human Traffickers, Drugs & so much other big trouble can easily pour in. It can be stopped cold!' Trump claimed.

Trump went after Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer on a day when no formal White House meetings were planned.

Schumer accused Trump of holding a 'temper tantrum' during their Wednesday meeting, and the president went back to calling him 'Cryin' Chuck.

Schumer in 2017 shed tears at a press conference where he surrounded himself with immigrants from Syria and noted his own middle name was Ellis, named for Ellis island. He teared up as he called Trump's immigration orders 'mean-spirited' and 'un-American.'

Total border apprehensions have dropped dramatically from 18 years ago, according to Customs and Border Protection statistics. However, they spiked in 2018 compared to the year before. Still, they were under 40,000, compared to 220,000 in 2000.

Trump's latest hot rhetoric on a crisis at the border comes after a report that son-in-law Jared Kushner does not favor invoking a national emergency. Trump charged Kushner with negotiating with Democrats to end the shutdown.

It also came hours after Trump flashed his softer side on Twitter by touting changes to a high-tech visa program that he said would bring more certainty and a 'potential path to citizenship.'

The president said changes to the 'H1-b' program were coming 'soon.'

'H1-B holders in the United States can rest assured that changes are soon coming which will bring both simplicity and certainty to your stay, including a potential path to citizenship,' Trump tweeted.

During his prime-time speech Tuesday, Trump invoked rapes and murders committed by illegal immigrants to make his case for a wall.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
