«Breaking News» Disneyland’s Space Mountain closes after park visitor climbs off the roller coaster while in motion

A Disneyland thrill ride came to a halt after a Southern California man forced his way out of his harness on Tuesday and climbed off of the ride. 

As the Space Mountain roller coaster was ascending its first hill, a man with cognitive disabilities managed to get out of the ride and had to be guided down by park employees, the Orange County Register reported.

The unidentified man walked to the park's first aid station and was later taken for precautionary exams to a hospital. He appeared to be uninjured, according to Disney officials.

Early reports seemed to indicate that the man had fallen out of the ride, but Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt confirmed that had not been the case.

'He didn't fall out,' said Sgt. Wyatt. 'He had to maneuver himself around the safety mechanism.'

The man's age and name were not released by the Anaheim police.

The incident began when the man, with the lap bar restraining him in the car, 'used force to maneuver his way out of the vehicle,' according to Disney officials.

He then climbed out of the slower part of the ride as the ride made its initial climb, according to Sgt. Wyatt. The ride operators shut the coaster down once it was noticed that the man was no longer in his seat.

The roller coaster is indoors and the rider made his way onto a stairway to the side of the track where he was able to get down from the ride safely

Space Mountain is an enclosed attraction that speeds through dark tunnels, but the first ascent does have an access staircase to the side that the man apparently was able to use to get back down.

California Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified by the park of the incident and is cooperating with the investigation, said spokesman Luke Brown for Cal/OSHA. 

The ride was shut down indefinitely after the incident and has not reopened as of Thursday evening.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
