«Breaking News» Simon Cowell 'splashes £15m on Wimbledon property to be closer to son Eric's school'

Simon Cowell has reportedly splashed a whopping £15million on a pad in Wimbledon because it's close to his son Eric's school.

The music boss is allegedly moving from his Holland Park home to the new six-bedroom house in the swanky London suburb due to the school system and the catchment area.

Both Simon, 59, and partner Lauren Silverman, 41, have their eye not only on a certain primary school for Eric, four, but on secondary schools for him to progress to.

According to The Sun, a source close to X Factor judge Simon said: 'It’s a drastic move, spending £15million on a new house just to ensure your kids go to their chosen school. But Simon isn’t short of a few bob and Eric is the most important thing in his life.

'He and Lauren sat down and talked about where they wanted him to go to school, and given how much time they spend in England, they decided to be based here in the future more than in the US.'

Simon's old home is thought to be going on the market - which means he'll leave behind neighbours such as Elton John and The Beckhams.

The mogul has owned properties in London, Beverley Hills, Miami and Barbados.

His LA home is 9,335 square foot - designed by the man himself. It is said to feature a spa, gym, pool and a tanning salon.

Simon is currently shooting the auditions round for the latest season of Britain's Got Talent - where he had a near-miss with a knife-thrower this week.

He described the moment as 'the scariest thing ever' as he risked his life for the daredevil challenge.

According to the Daily Star, Simon volunteered to be the target for Belarusian act Andrei Gomonov at the auditions.

Far from being scared the act could go wrong, Simon reportedly told Andrei: 'I really want to know what it feels like to have an axe thrown at me.'

The performance was certainly a close call for the head judge as the knives were said to have missed his body 'by inches'.

It was so tense that fellow judge Amanda Holden covered her eyes during the stunt.

Simon later admitted: 'OK, so that was the scariest thing ever. I now realise how hard it is.'

Fellow judge David Walliams jokingly hit out at the performer for not finishing off Simon while he had the chance.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
