«Breaking News» Footage of dolphins swimming off the British coast

This rare footage shows a 20-strong group of dolphins swimming gracefully off the British coast.

Julian Northway, 32, spotted the pod as he was piloting his boat, the MTS Terramare, back to dock.

The captain in the merchant navy said he did not use any specialist equipment to film the dolphins - instead choosing to use a GoPro strapped to the end of a hook which he stuck in the water.

He said: 'It came out a lot better than I thought, it took a lot of shots to get that.

'I saw the pod of dolphins approaching and went up the bow and slowly lowered the boat hook into the water with the GoPro attached to the end of it,

'I waited for a minute with it in the water, and then went back to the wheelhouse to see what footage I got but most times it was nothing or just white water.

'Each time I had to rush back down when I saw another pod approaching, it took about five hours in total.'

Mr Northway said he spotted the pod around 20 miles south of the Eddy Stone Lighthouse off Plymouth, Devon.

He said spotting dolphins was a rare occurrence but that it seemed to be happening more frequently.

Mr Northway continued: 'The pod was big - there was at least 15 to 20 all around the boat.

'It's becoming more common, we're getting more sightings than we used to.

'They seem to be around all year now.

'I've tried to film them before but it didn't work - dolphins don't tend to hang around very long, especially on this boat - I think its too loud for them.

'While the weather was good on that day I thought I'd give it another go, and I'm glad I did.

'I was amazed at what I got, I had a massive smile on my face - I couldn't believe how well it came out.

'I'm not a techy guy and I thought, ' bloody hell, it worked'.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
