«Breaking News» Brexit could be delayed until end of the YEAR under coup scheme

Brexit could be delayed until the end of the year under plans by rebel MPs to seize control of negotiations, it is claimed. 

Backbenchers are plotting what has been called a 'coup' to take charge of Commons business after Theresa May's withdrawal deal was emphatically voted down last night. 

Under the proposals Parliament would change its standing orders and pass control of negotiations to the liaison committee. 

If backbench MPs could not put win support for a deal Mrs May would be required to ask for an extension to Article 50, The Times reported.

The draft Bill would force the PM to seek an extension until December, delaying Brexit by at least nine months. 

Rebels including Tory MP Nick Boles will seek to suspend the standing orders when Mrs May lays her next Brexit motion before the House. 

Sir Oliver Letwin and Nicky Morgan are also reportedly backing the plan to prevent a no-deal exit.  

If the Speaker approved – and Parliament agreed – backbenchers would seize power over proposals for new legislation and then submit a single Brexit Bill.

The Bill would give Mrs May 21 days to come up with an alternative plan which commanded the support of a majority of MPs.

If she failed, the liaison committee would then be made responsible for coming up with a new proposed deal.

The committee is made up of 36 select committee chairmen and is dominated by Remainers. It is led by Tory Sarah Wollaston, a campaigner for a second referendum. 

Mr Boles laid out the rebel plans in a statement on his website, entitled 'Stopping No Deal Brexit'. 

He said: 'Some of the MPs working on this are strong supporters of the PM’s deal. Others will be voting against the deal [yesterday].

'But all of the MPs involved are united in the belief that a no deal Brexit in our current state of preparedness would be against the national interest.

'We anticipate that if [we] succeed in obtaining majorities in the House of Commons, then the Bill will subsequently also secure wide support in the House of Lords and will therefore quickly become law.' 

Speaking after the vote, he said: 'I voted for the PM’s deal tonight and will of course back her in tomorrow’s confidence vote. But be in no doubt that she is the architect of tonight’s defeat.

'The Prime Minister has tried to dictate terms to Parliament. She must now accept that Parliament will set the terms of Brexit and it is her job as head of government to deliver them.'  

Mrs May faces a vote of no confidence on Wednesday after suffering a massive parliamentary defeat over her controversial EU withdrawal agenda.

Labour launched the bid to oust the Government after Mrs May's Withdrawal Agreement was overwhelmingly rejected by 432 votes to 202.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
