«Breaking News» Angry driver reverses down busy road and swerves in front of motorist yelling abuse

A driver hopes dashcam footage will help him find an angry motorist who almost hit him while doing a U-turn and then reversed into traffic and yelled abuse at him.

Andy Coleman, from Crawley, west Sussex, shared the moment a blue Mercedes suddenly U-turned into his path, coming perilously close to a crash.

The driver of the Mercedes waved his hands in anger and zoomed ahead before stopping and reversing down a busy road to shout at Andy.

The blue Mercedes driver then sped ahead of Andy and yelled more abuse in the bizarre road rage incident near Hooley, Surrey.

Andy said that he shared the footage with the police but was later told that the registered keeper of the car had been found not guilty at a court hearing in December - after he swore she did not know who was in the car on that day.

The Mercedes driver's face is clearly caught on camera in the video, which Andy said he passed to police.

Andy claimed that police tracked down the registered keeper of the vehicle and subsequently prosecuted them for refusing to say who was behind the wheel at the time of the near-collision on August 2017.

However, he said he was later told by police that the registered keeper had been found not guilty of the offence following a December court hearing.

Andy has now posted the footage online in the hopes that someone would finally identify the road rage driver and open the door to a new prosecution.

In the video, Andy is waiting in a queue of traffic to turn right.

Just as he makes the move the blue Mercedes appears on the left and performs a fast U-turn, coming close to a head-on crash with Andy.

A car horn blares and the man in the blue Mercedes makes a gesture with his hands before pulling over to the left of the road.

He then starts to reverse against the traffic flow, prompting Andy's female passenger to say: 'He's going to come out and have a go.'

Speaking today, Andy said: 'I decided to publish now as the police have closed the case unless I can find the identity. I thought putting it on the website might have some result.'

Surrey Police told Mail Online: 'An allegation of dangerous driving was submitted to Surrey Police following the incident on 28 August 2017 on the A23 in Hooley. Dashcam footage of the alleged offence was also submitted.

'A statutory notice was sent to the registered keeper to identify the driver of the vehicle at the time of the alleged incident. Numerous attempts were made to identify the driver through the registered keeper.

'A copy of the dashcam footage was also sent to the registered keeper. The registered keeper of the vehicle was subsequently charged with failing to nominate a driver. The registered keeper was found not guilty of failing to nominate a driver after the case was heard at Staines Magistrate’s Court in December 2018.'

Surrey Police declined to comment on the outcome of the court case.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
