Amazon's Alexa has gone down and is ignoring user's requests, according to numerous reports from customers.
Alexa is the name given to the artificial intelligence (AI) system that powers the Echo device range.
The smart assistant has been down since early this morning but users say that the device either won't switch off or is switching itself off.
Outage tracker Down Detector– the website that tracks outages – received hundreds of complaints about Alexa not working at around 8am this morning UK time.

Many users vented their frustration on Twitter. Neil Lovell wrote: 'Alexa seems to be down. She won't even tell me the time'
The reports were related to server connections not working and some users had problems logging into Alexa.
The global map shows the areas affected by the outage, which are mostly in the UK and Europe and some in the US.
However, It is now the middle of the night in the country and most users would be likely be asleep.
Tony Hill commented on Down Detector: 'Won't turn up the heating and is thinking long and hard about whether to turn lights on or off.
'Alexa seems to be down. She won't even tell me the time,' one American Twitter user wrote to Amazon.
'Has your service gone down? Currently none of my Echo's are working,' another noted.
An Amazon spokesperson told MailOnline: 'For a short period this morning we had an issue that impacted some Alexa customers' ability to interact with the service. The Alexa service is now operating normally.'

This user wrote: 'Anybody else's alexa ignoring them this morning? It played my local radio station after a while, but won't do anything else. Just ignoring me. Won't even turn off'

The Amazon Echo Twitter page has not responded to any of the complaints so far.
The Alexa voice assistant went down in the UK, Germany, and other parts of Europe on Christmas morning.
Down Detector reported the outage after hundreds of reports from multiple users because of an 'issue that intermittently impacted some Alexa customers’ ability to interact with the service', according to TechRadar.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
