Colombo in Sri Lanka has been named the 'must-photograph' travel destination of 2019 in a new study.
Research of more than 1.3 million social media posts found the Asian city is the location travellers most want to take a picture of, followed by Yokohama in Japan and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda.
The Isle of Harris in Scotland also makes the list - it comes tenth - along with Baden-Baden in Germany's Black Forest (fourth).

The capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo, pictured, has been named as the top 'must-photograph destination in 2019' in a new study

The second 'must-photograph' destination is the city of Yokohama, south of Tokyo. It was one of the first Japanese ports opened to foreign trade

Commissioned by Huawei to celebrate the launch of its new P Smart 2019 device, the research showed that the rest of the top ten ranking is made up of Old San Juan in Puerto Rico (fifth), Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe (sixth), Kartarpur in Pakistan (seventh), Wadi Rum in Jordan (eighth) and Icy Strait Point in Alaska (ninth).
Meanwhile, the study also uncovered a new-found appetite among young Brits for lesser-known destinations.
Just under half of 18 to 25-year-olds now look for places their friends haven't been, with more than a third saying they want to be the first to find new travel hotspots, take the photo and stick it online.
The mantra of 'if it's not on social it didn't happen' is very much alive, with 16 per cent of youngsters deciding on locations that are the most 'Instagrammable' when planning their travels.

In fourth place is the German spa town of Baden Baden, pictured in the Black Forest, which is close to the border with France

Old San Juan in Puerto Rico, pictured, is the oldest settlement on the list. It came fifth on the 'must photograph' list

The mighty Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe close to the border with Zambia. It claims sixth place on the list

In seventh place on the 'must photograph' list is Kartarpur in Pakistan, where the first Sikh commune was established
Mobile phones also make for perfect travel companions, with two thirds (66 per cent) claiming them to be the ultimate travel essential.
Justin Costello, Huawei director of marketing, UK and Ireland, said: 'It's interesting to see that Gen Z are keen to get out and explore the world by treading their own path – enabling them to share with friends their experiences in these new "must shoot" destinations on social media.
'Being able to stay connected no matter where you are in the world, and being able capture to scale, colours and beauty of these amazing locations so you can share your major life experiences through the power of photography will always be important to those who have firmly caught the "explorer" bug.'
Long battery life and a good camera are key features 18 to 25-year-olds demand from their mobile phone when travelling.

Wadi Rum, a protected swathe of desert wilderness in southern Jordan is number eight on the list of 'must photograph' places

In ninth place is Icy Strait Point, a scenic stop off for scenic cruises in Alaska. It is a privately owned tourist destination just outside the small village of Hoonah

Rounding off the top ten list is the Isle of Harris in Scotland, pictured. It is known for its sandy beaches such as Luskentyre beach, pictured
But Brits aren't all desperate to get away.
Despite more than half having the travel bug, 40 per cent claim to be proud of their local area with over one third stating they'd recommend their local areas as a good location to visit.
Social media is just as important at home with one in 10 claiming to know the most 'Instagrammable' spots, and 38 per cent of Brits stating there are hidden local gems in their area.
In celebration of the launch of the new P Smart 2019, Huawei is giving one lucky social media user the chance to win a round-the-world trip, visiting each of the top ten 'must photograph' destinations for 2019.
To enter, upload a picture of a local hidden gem to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #HuaweiOnTour.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
