And Kandi Burruss, 42, and Tamar Braxton, 41, teamed up during the Monday night premiere of Celebrity Big Brother, despite admitting they shared a difficult history.

Tamar selected Kandi as her partner for the episode ending Head Of Household challenge, which involved transferring champagne from a bottle to a glass while swinging high in the air.

Tamar said she picked Kandi for the challenge 'to extend the olive branch' – but soon regretted it as they came last.

'I wanted people to at least know I was a contender,' she complained. 'I ain't picking Kandi no more, I'll tell you that. She ain't invited.'

Lolo Jones, 36, the Olympic track and bobsled star who complained that she was 'unfortunately still a virgin,' seemed sure of a twist in the competition and went in deliberately avoiding a win.

'Everyone knows I compete to win. But I'm choosing Tom because I don't want to win,' she said of 47-year-old funnyman Tom Green.

'I feel like we'll be able to look like we're trying really hard ... and it will convince everyone that I gave an honest effort.'

However her competitive nature – which also flared when fellow Olympian Ryan Lochte bragged about having more Olympic medals – kicked in during the game itself.

'I know I said I didn't want to win, but I can't help myself,' she admitted.

'I see Lochte over there and I want to destroy him. Crush! Destroy! Kill!

'Lochte I'm about to send you back to the kiddie pool.'

Lochte, 34, went into Celebrity Big Brother on Monday night bragging of his imminent victory.

The swimmer then ended the first part of the two-night premiere set to be either the first Head of Household – or the first up for eviction.

The 12-times Olympic medalist had picked Mean Girls' star Jonathan Bennett, 37, to be his 'power pair' partner for the season's first challenge, swapping glasses of champagne while up high on slow swings.

Ryan was first to pick up how to move the swings as he and Jonathan won through despite a late challenge Lolo and her partner Tom Green.

Ryan and Jonathan celebrated the win knowing one of them would become the first Head of Household, getting a personal bedroom and bathroom and being safe from eviction.

But their jubilation was short-lived as host Julie Chen Moonves, 49, -who introduced herself using her full moniker amidst allegations of sexual impropriety against her TV mogul husband Les Moonves- again told them they would not only compete against each other for the title, but the loser would be the first nominee in jeopardy.

Adding to their frustration, they were told that they – as well as viewers – would have to wait for the decisive competition, airing Tuesday night.

Even before entering the house, Ryan had bragged about being the overall winner for the $250,000 prize.

'I absolutely know nothing about Big Brother. But competition is what I'm bred for – so I'm going to win this,' he insisted, smiling: 'If not my wife is gonna whoop my butt!'

He seemed most confident still as he faced an uncertain showdown with Jonathan, saying: 'I'm made for competition. That has been my entire career. So, Jonathan, I'm sorry but this is going to be a tough one for you, buddy.'

Food Network host Jonathan seemed to agree, saying: 'I don't know how I'm going to beat a 12-time Olympic medal champion.

'But I have several participation trophies. So watch out Lochte! Mr. Congeniality is coming for ya.'

Comedian Tom Green, 47, teased them: 'I'm going to wake you up at two in the morning and hand you pistols. A duel!'

As the 12 celebrities picked power pair partners, former WWE star Eva Marie, 34, and actor Kato Kaelin – the 59-year-old best known as a key witness in the O.J Simpson trial – were last to be picked.

They were told that meant they could not play to be HoH – but were also surprised by being saved from potential elimination.

'Who knew not being wanted was a good thing?' Ava Marie had asked.

The celebrities were shocked at how hard it was to move the swings, with Ricky Williams, 41, admitting: 'I am an all-pro NFL running back ... and I cannot get this swing to move. No matter what I do it will not budge.

'I look down and I'm like, "Wow, I haven't been this high since ... yesterday,"' he joked of his self-confessed reputation as a 'pothead.'

Dina Lohan, 56, and former White House press boss Anthony Scaramucci, 55, had one of the worst showings.

'I gravitated towards Anthony because I'm going to be totally honest – I couldn't remember everyone's names!' she admitted of her pick.

Ryan was not the only celebrity predicting a win as they arrived for the month-long stay at the house where they are monitored 24-7 by 90 cameras and 114 microphones.

'I just love competition. If somebody tried to backstab me ... it sucks for them,' insisted Lindsay Lohan's mom Dina. 'I'm going to be the housemother sweeping everyone out the door.'

Calling herself 'the O.G. momager,' she said: 'I've been managing my children for decades. We just love each other. Like, they're my best friends. we've been through tabloid-ism, which s horrible. Horrible.

'The haters are just trying to find a story, but most people in our lives around us love us because we're real.'

WWE star Eva Marie, meanwhile, insisted: 'I'm a huge Big Brother fan so I'm going to do what it takes to win.'

Tamar called herself a 'Big Brother superfan,' saying: 'I love this game! I was made to be in this house.

'I don't wanna win stabbing someone in the back. I wanna be chewing your face.'

Jonathan also said he has 'always been a fan of Big Brother, joking: 'My strategy is to go in the house, be nice to everyone – and make sure everyone know that I'm not athletic.'

Lolo, meanwhile, used her pre-show interview to admit: 'Unfortunately, I'm still a virgin.

'How difficult is it? This is harder than winning an Olympic gold medal. I'm definitely on a search for my husband.'

Kato played up his position as O.J.'s houseguest the night the former football star was accused of murdering his wife Nicole Brown alongside Ron Goldman.

As he was handed a key to the Big Brother house, he joked: 'First time I've had a key to my own place, I'm excited.'

And referring to his nickname during the trial as America's favorite houseguest, he said: 'I would much rather be known as America's favorite houseguest for winning Celebrity Big Brother.'

After seeing him arrive, Jonathan joked: 'Kato Kaelin is going to be a tough one to beat because he survived the toughest head of household ever.'

The second part of the two-night premiere airs Tuesday on CBS.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
