«Breaking News» Ocasio-Cortez says Millennials believe 'world will end in 12 YEARS' if climate change is ignored

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said on Monday that ‘the world is gonna end in 12 years’ if laws aren’t passed to address climate change and that it was ‘immoral’ for billionaires to exist in the same country where people struggled to make ends meet.

During an interview with journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates at Riverside Church in Manhattan on Monday, the New York Congresswoman said she and other millennials view climate change as ‘our World War II’

Coates invited Ocasio-Cortez, the Democratic socialist, to the special forum honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

She also told Coates that it was ‘immoral’ how the American economic system ‘allows billionaires to exist.’

Ocasio-Cortez, 29, said: ‘I don’t think that necessarily means that all billionaires are immoral.

‘It is not to say that someone like Bill Gates, for example, or Warren Buffett are immoral people.

‘I do not believe that... but I do think a system that allows billionaires to exist when there are parts of Alabama where people are still getting ringworm because they don’t have access to public health is wrong.

‘I think that it’s wrong that a vast majority of the country does not make a living great wage.

‘I think it’s wrong that you can work 100 hours and not feed your kids.

‘I think it’s wrong that corporations like Walmart and Amazon can get paid, they can get paid by the government essentially, experience a wealth transfer from the public for paying people less than a minimum wage.’

Hours later, Ocasio-Cortez appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS.

The Congresswoman and the host both tucked into a tub of ice cream each and talked about her first three weeks in office.

Colbert showed an Instagram post showing Ocasio-Cortez coming home after an exhausting day of work and eating straight from a tub of ice cream.

So the host then decided to take out two tubs of a special brand of Ben and Jerry's ice cream - Stephen Colbert's AmeriCone Dream.

The Colbert-inspired flavor includes vanilla ice cream with fudge-covered waffle cone pieces and a caramel swirl.

The proceeds from the sale of the ice cream will go to charitable causes close to Colbert's heart, including food and medical assistance for disadvantaged children, helping veterans and their families, and environmental causes.

'AmeriCone Dream' is a play on the phrase 'American dream.'

Ocasio-Cortez is a freshman Congresswoman who shocked the political world by beating incumbent Joe Crowley in the Democratic primary for the 14th Congressional District, which takes up parts of Queens and the Bronx.

Since taking office, she has proven to be a hit on social media, amassing more than 2.5 million followers on Twitter while attracting huge audiences of Instagram users who watch her cook.

Ocasio-Cortez has also proposed legislative initiatives including raising taxes on the wealthy in order to fund a 'Green New Deal'.

During an interview with journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates ...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
