It sure is important to smell good - particularly when you're trying to make a good first impression.
According to new research, smell is one of the first things people are judged on when meeting someone new, while it has been revealed that you only get 27 seconds to make a good first impression, a time that is then halved when you are on a first date.
And far from being judged on an ability to come up with interesting topics to chat about, most people admit they judge another person purely on behavior, appearance and smell - at least at first.
Uh oh! It has been revealed that you only have 27 seconds to make a good impression on someone, whether that's on a date or in a business meeting (stock image)
Shape up: You only have 27 seconds to make a good first impression on someone, according to the Dollar Shave Club
The number one factor, however? Smell.
A staggering 85 per cent of Americans who took part in a survey by men's grooming brand Dollar Shave Club admitted to they are more likely to feel positively about a person if they like the way that they smell.
When it comes to a first date, the stakes are even higher however, with the average person admitting they know within 15 minutes whether they want a second date, with half saying it takes even less time.
Many people must assume this, as the study revealed that of the average readying time of 29 minutes, one of the most crucial predate steps is picking out a scent.
Over two in three Americans put a lot of thought into how they smell before a date, and nearly every respondent (89 per cent) feels more confident when they smell good.
With this in mind, the Dollar Shave Club put together Blueprint, a new cologne range of six fragrances, perfect for any occasion.
'Our award-winning fragrance team has created a thoughtful selection of colognes you won't find anywhere else. Whatever your plans, we have a Blueprint,' said Nick Virginio, Senior Brand Development Manager.
It's all in the nose: Dollar Shave Club wanted to prove the importance of smelling nice for the launch its first cologne collection, called Blueprint
Everything counts: Smiling, being polite, smelling nice, being a good listener and making eye contact number among the leading factors of a good impression
Outside of smell, the key contributors to a positive first impression are smiling, being polite, being a good listener and making eye contact.
But smelling bad, acting arrogantly and dressing poorly were found to be the top reasons people will form a bad first impression of somebody.
And if you fail to impress early on a date, then it probably won't last for long. If a date is going poorly the average American will call it quits after just 16 minutes.
Four in ten Americans admit to having a friend call and fake an emergency to get them out of a miserable date, while 39 per cent say they've told a date they have to work early in order to cut ties with a bad match.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
