«Breaking News» Emily Blunt's Mary Poppins Returns bathtub scene was REAL

Mary Poppins Returns features a lot of awe-inspiring visual effects, but the scene which saw the nanny dive into a bathtub and enter an underwater fantasy world was not created with CGI.

In a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the film-making process released by Disney on Saturday, Emily Blunt can be seen falling backwards into the bubbles and down a chute that was rigged up underneath the tub.

There, the 35-year-old actress was caught safely by the crew, before she crawled off the crash mats placed below her to get back on set.

As the film magic is revealed, a voice can be heard narrating the clip and saying: 'It takes a lot of courage to do something like that.'

Emily recently explained during a Q & A how she carried out the scene, and how it was important to 'build practical sets'.

She said: 'Everyone involved was very insistent that as much as possible we would build practical sets that we could very much interact with.'

'And so what they did with the bath, which the kids thought was the best thing ever, was that they actually carved a hole in the bottom of the bath and had a slide which went under the stage.'

In the scene, Emily was joined in the bath child stars Joel Dawson, Nathanael Saleh, and Pixie Davies, and she revealed it took the youngsters several takes to get it right.

She explained: 'It was a drop - I'm going to tell you - it was fast and steep, and then they filled up the bath with bubbles. The kids did it twenty times and I did it twice.'

This comes after the film's director Rob Marshall has revealed last week that a sequel for the film is already in the works, with Emily set to return in the lead role.

Speaking to The Sun on Monday, the filmmaker, 58, revealed: 'It is early stages but I will say right now that there were eight books, so there's a lot of great material still to mine.

'That's what we worked from, those incredible eight books of P.L. Travers. So, you know...'

Comparing the film's future to the Star Wars and James Bond franchises, he said of the 35-year-old actress: 'Emily does light up when she speaks to me about it. And if the people want it, I think it will happen.'

The film has taken more than $260 million worldwide since its release in December, with critics and fans alike praising her take on the iconic character.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
