The number one B&B in the world is ‘The 25’ boutique guesthouse on England's south coast and the best hotel is Tulemar Bungalows and Villas in Costa Rica, according to TripAdvisor's annual Travellers' Choice Awards.
The 25, close to Torquay's seafront, boasts six quirky bedrooms all equipped with voice recognition technology - plus home-baked goodies, bathroom TVs and mood lighting. Stays there cost from £149 a night.
The awards are decided by an algorithm that analyses the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from TripAdvisor travellers worldwide.

A reviewer on TripAdvisor wrote: 'Nothing prepares you for the 5-star luxury of this rare gem in a sea of bland bed and breakfasts'
And the winning B&B has had 514 glittering reviews, with 100 per cent of them rating the property as 'excellent'.
Andy and Julian Banner-Price, owners of The 25, said: 'We were absolutely thrilled to hear that The 25 has been named as the best B&B in the world.
'We love creating special and memorable experiences for our guests and receiving their excellent reviews makes our hard work truly rewarding.'
Rating The 25, TripAdvisor user Edman70 from Rugby, Warwickshire, said: 'From the welcome drink and homemade brownie to the luxury of the room with iPads, Netflix, more cake, stunning bed and then the breakfast, which was out of this world - nothing prepares you for the five-star luxury of this rare gem in a sea of bland bed and breakfasts.'
Another guest wrote: 'Fantastic! From start to finish our stay was flawless. Andy and Julian have thought of everything and are the perfect hosts.'
For the second year running, five of the top 10 B&Bs in the world are located in the UK.

Creevagh Heights, in Ireland, overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. It comes ninth globally in the top B&B category
Bindon Bottom B&B in West Lulworth, Dorset, claims third place, followed by The Grange in Fylingthorpe, North Yorkshire, which celebrates fourth place.
Swallows Rest Bed & Breakfast in Brigstock, Northamptonshire, claims fifth place, while Hillstone Lodge in Colbost on the Isle of Skye comes seventh.
The rest of the global winners includes two B&Bs in the U.S - the Jail Inn in Gelena, Illinois, taking second spot and Parsonage Bed and Breakfast in San Francisco in sixth place.
B&B Mondello Design, in Italy, comes eighth globally, followed by Creevagh Heights, Ireland, in ninth place and Casa Da Praia in India is awarded the tenth spot.
Meanwhile, Tulemar Bungalows & Villas, situated on 33 acres of lush Costa Rican rainforest, takes the crown for best hotel in the world for 2019.

The resort, where rooms are available on TripAdvisor for an average of £189 per night, overlooks the Manuel Antonio coastline and there are four swimming pools and four restaurants to choose from.
Guests staying in the resort's treehouse-style accommodation are surrounded by nature, counting monkeys and sloths among their neighbours - and have a personal concierge on hand to arrange tours, spa treatments, restaurant reservations and personal chefs.
Some 2,229 guests have left rave reviews on TripAdvisor, praising the staff who are 'so friendly and helpful' and the 'expertly prepared' food.
One reviewer wrote: 'This was our third trip to Tulemar in three years and each time, we are in awe of the beauty, amenities and staff at this resort. Over the top!'

The top-ranking U.S hotel is the French Quarter Inn, in Charleston, which comes sixth overall.
The luxury hotel is classically decorated with modern touches, including spacious Italian marble bathrooms.
And guests are well looked after, receiving a glass of champagne upon check-in and freshly baked cookies and milk each evening.
The top ten hotel list also comprises Hotel Belvedere in Italy (2nd), Viroth's Hotel, Cambodia (3rd), Kenting Amanda Hotel, Taiwan (4th), Hotel Alpin Spa Tuxerhof, Austria (6th), The Resort at Pedrgal, Mexico (7th), Belmond Palacio Nazarenas, Peru (8th), Kayakapi Premium Caves, Turkey (9th) and Hanoi La Siesta Hotel, Vietnam (10th).

Other UK properties celebrating world recognition include The Elm Tree Hotel in Llandudno, rated third best bargain hotel in the world - and Devon's Tavistock House Hotel rated the seventh best in the world for small hotels.
Hotel 41, opposite Buckingham Palace in London, claims fifth in the world's best luxury hotel category and 15th place overall.
It boasts Savoir beds and a personal butler service for guests and their pets, as well as staff who outnumber guests by two to one.
Egerton House Hotel, also in London, scoops 19th place in the world for luxury.
Other award categories include bargain accommodation, best service, luxury, small hotels and value for money.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
