Sheridan Smith’s new tour is reportedly in crisis as the singer prepares to play half-empty arenas across the country after failing to sell enough tickets.

Even the 37-year-old’s homecoming concert in Hull Arena has only a third of spaces filled, with 3,750 seats sold so far.

London’s O2, which can fit an audience of 20,000, is also shutting its upper seating section to give the star a chance of fully filling the bottom, The Sun reports.

It comes after the actress performed nine chaotic shows last year, which saw Sheridan - currently starring in ITV drama Cleaning Up - reportedly flash her pants, yell obscenities, and encourage the audience to get drunk.

At her final gig in Cardiff, she admitted: ‘I’m used to hiding behind characters, so bear with me. I feel naked,’ the publication says.

Due to perform at six venues across England in March, Sheridan’s A Northern Soul tour first went on sale in November.

A source said: ‘The size of the venues was ambitious this time around and some have been harder to sell than others.

‘Bosses hope that it picks up in the next few weeks.’

Elsewhere, Sheridan has discussed her mental health following her well-publicised breakdown, as she confessed to still suffering with anxiety yet maintaining 'sanity'.

Following her father Colin's death, Sheridan confessed she fell into a dark place yet after some time out and her new romance she is feeling better.

Sheridan - who recently released her second album 'A Northern Soul' - said: 'I've got four donkeys, seven dogs, I'm a country girl now, I've got farmer boots and everything, I'm really happy...

'I feel like I've got that normality and sanity I can come to work. I go back and I sit with the dogs and the donkeys and if you're having a bad day they don't judge you.'

Shocker: Sheridan admitted she is still surprised that Jamie did ask her to marry him, adding: 'I can't believe it, someone's going to have me!'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
