Rami Malek revealed he got his big break after sending out his head shot in a pizza box.

The 37-year-old actor took advantage of his job delivering takeaways in LA by including his photos and CV inside the packaging.

One day, his persistence paid off and he landed a job within hours of handing over the hot food. 

That's one way to earn a crust: SAG Award winner Rami Malek revealed on Sunday night that he got his big break from sending his headshot out in pizza boxes in LA 

Speaking to reporters backstage at the SAG Awards at LA's Shrine Auditorium on Sunday, he said: 'One day, I get a call from the casting director of Gilmore Girls. 

'She said, "Can I speak to Rami Malek's agent?" I said, "Speaking." She said, "Is this Rami Malek?" And I said, "Yes, it is." 

'She said, "Do you have an agent, honey?" I said, "No, I don't. We'll work on it." She was laughing throughout [the conversation]. 

A pizza the action: One day, he got a call from the casting director of Gilmore Girls who had seen his headshot in a pizza box and gave him a 'three-line part' (pictured on the show in 2004)

'It was three lines and a co-starring part on Gilmore Girls. I said, "You're laughing right now. It will take me 10 minutes to get to Warner Bros." 

He continued: 'She said, "All right, kid. Come on in." 

'So, after years of delivering pizzas and stuffing my headshot into pizza boxes and to-go orders, someone finally called with a part. I went to her office and I got the job later that night.'

Rami appeared on Gilmore Girls back in 2004 as a member of Lane Kim's bible study group named Andy. 

The episode was titled In The Clamor and the Clangor.  

Now look at him: Rami picked up a Best Actor at the SAGs for his role as the late Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody

Earlier in the evening, Rami had touched on his pizza delivery tale in his acceptance speech for the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture award.

He picked up the gong for his portrayal of the late Freddie Mercury in Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. 

He said: 'I have anecdotes about what it is to be an actor and delivering pizzas and stuff like that, but I'll spare you it. 

'I thank Queen and Freddie Mercury. I get some power from him that is about stepping up and living your best life; being exactly who you want to be and accomplishing everything you so desire. 

'And I feel that, and he allows us all to feel that. So this is for him.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
