«Breaking News» Artists recreate Empire State Building in different architecture styles

The Empire State Building is easily one of the most famous in the world, paving the way for the modern skyscraper ever since it was completed in 1931.

And after appearing in hundreds of Hollywood movies and television shows, it has since become an iconic landmark that has defined New York for generations.

But what if the Empire State Building was done in a different architectural design than its classic Art Deco style?

Some talented artists have decided to find out, reimagining the prominent building in a variety of styles that span across the centuries.

The Empire State Building is easily one of the most famous in the world, but what if it was done in a different architectural design that its classic Art Deco style?

Roman architecture was all about columns, domes, and a mastery of arches.

The Romans also strayed away from stone or wood, instead using what became known as Roman concrete for the main material of their buildings.

One would still find an antenna, of sorts, on a Gothic-style Empire State Building. The Gothic style also relied heavily on pointed arches and stained glass

The style, which originated in the 12th century in France and enjoyed popularity until the 16th century, relied heavily on pointed arches and stained glass.

It also brought ribbed vaults and flying buttresses to buildings as a way to increase natural light, according to Home Advisor.

Giving the Empire State Building this Renaissance spin would see an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, and geometry

As the Gothic style fell out of favor, architects fell back in love with the simplicity of the Romans and Greeks.

Renaissance architecture, which flourished between the early 14th and 17th centuries, also saw the revival of rounded arches, orderly columns, and domes

What if the Empire State Building wasn't influenced by the styles of Europe at all, but rather traditional Japanese architecture.

The style was known for its emphasis on wooden structures, often elevated slightly off the ground, with tiled and thatched roofs.

Unlike in the Roman or Renaissance styles, there are no arches to be found as the Japanese instead opted for gently curved roofs.

An Empire State Building done in the Art Nouveau style would be built with glass or wrought iron, and covered with ornaments inspired in the curved lines of plants and flowers

One style that swept across multiple countries between 1890 and 1910 was the Art Nouveau style, which was a reaction to the academic art of the 19th century.

An Empire State Building done in this style would have been far more elaborate, finding inspiration in the curved lines of plants or flowers.

Buildings done in the Art Nouveau style were often built with glass or wrought iron and covered with ornaments like polychrome ceramic tiles.

An Empire State Building done in the postmodern style would be free of formality, with colors and textures that would often be unrelated to the building's structure

The first rules of postmodern architecture are simply that there are no rules.

An Empire State Building done in this style would be free of formality, with colors and textures unrelated to the building's structure.

As with Art Nouveau, curved forms were common as were asymmetry, bright colors, and decorative elements.

An Empire State Building done in the Brutalism style would surely stick out among the Big Apple's glittering and glassy skyscrapers, using concrete for the construction's facade for a fortress-like appearance

On the other side of the spectrum is Brutalism, a type of architecture that flourished from 1951 to 1975.

An Empire State Building done in the Brutalism style would surely stick out among the Big Apple's glittering and glassy skyscrapers.

Brutalism buildings were among the first to use concrete for a construction's facade, giving them the appearances of fortresses.

Buildings done in the Brutalism style also often expose a building's function in its exterior, doing away with any decorative elements.

An Empire State Building done in the desconstsructivism style would have an absence of symmetry, continuity, or harmony in the design elements

Deconstructivism is similar to postmodern architecture in that it doesn't believe in any set rules or formalities.

What it does believe in is absence - in symmetry, continuity, or harmony in the design elements.

An Empire State Building done in such a style would likely be given the impression of fragmentation in the constructed building, one made up of components that don't seem to have any connection to each other.

If the Empire State Building was built today, it may have been done in a sustainable architecture style. This form of architecture works to minimize the negative environmental impact of buildings by using natural and renewable materials

The Empire State Building would likely be built with concrete, wood, rock, or recycled glass and lumber.

It could even feature living plants - such as a 'green wall' - solar panels, and wind turbines to power its lighting.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
