«Breaking News» Penn Badgley shuts down people who are confess attraction to STALKER character

Actor Penn Badgley has proven himself to be a world away from the creepy stalker he plays in Netflix hit You - by issuing stark warnings to any Twitter followers who express an attraction to the murdering bookstore manager.

The 32-year-old has hit back at several people on the social media site, after reading tweets in which they admitted to finding character Joe Goldberg desirable - despite his violent behavior and stalker tendencies.

In the series, which premiered on Netflix on December 26 after first airing on Lifetime, Penn's character, Joe, stalks a woman named Guinevere Beck — played by Elizabeth Lail, 26 — and then proceeds to date her, and all while secretly committing a series of heinous crimes.

Anyone who has seen the series will likely realize what a problematic character Joe is, however his horrifying behavior, which includes public masturbation, breaking and entering, theft, and murder, has not stopped some fans of the show from forming an attraction to him.

'What sort of deep rooted issues do I have if I’m attracted to Joe from “You”,' one fan asked after watching the 10-episode season.

Another viewer admitted that they found they were both creeped out and attracted to Penn's character while watching the show.

Penn decided to weigh in on viewers' attraction to his character by making it clear that they should avoid anyone like Joe.

One fan tweeted Penn, 'Kidnap me please,' to which he responded on Wednesday, 'No thx.'

A viewer who saw Penn in both You and his previous role in CW's Gossip Girl as Dan Humphrey admitted she might like his newer character better.

'Okay but @PennBadgley was sexy as Dan but lord Joe is a whole new level,' the fan wrote. Penn responded to the tweet adding that Joe is a whole new level 'of problems' to reiterate his point about the abusive character.

The tweets kept pouring in as viewers couldn't help but express their attraction for Penn's character while watching the thrilling series.

'Said this already but @PennBadgley is breaking my heart once again as Joe. What is it about him?' A fan wrote online. To this, Penn responded: 'A: He is a murderer.'

Luckily, Penn found another fan who was in agreement that it was creepy so many people were attracted to the You character.

'The amount of people romanticizing @PennBadgley's character in YOU scares me,' one person wrote. Penn agreed, saying: 'It will be all the motivation I need for season two.'

Attraction to the Joe character was not the only thing fans were talking about after they watched the series. One person pointed out that Penn seemed to be picking specific acting roles.

'If @PennBadgley keeps playing stalker dudes obsessed with reading and writing, I have no choice but to believe he is in real life,' a viewer hilariously wrote. They are referencing Penn's previous character in Gossip Girl who also turned out to be a stalker.

This realization was met with Penn realizing he might need to shop out other acting roles.

'Yeah I really should consult with my agent about this huh,' the actor hilariously responded.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
