«Breaking News» Meghan Markle’s favourite night club revealed- and it’s not what you’d expect

The unlikely nightclub that the The Duchess of Sussex favoured before she met Prince Harry has been revealed- and it's a far cry from the exclusive venues she visits now.

In an excerpt from her now-defunct lifestyle website The Tig in 2014, Meghan Markle revealed that her favourite haunt was the St Moritz club in Soho.

The down-to-earth actress, now 37, described it as 'oldest club in London', admitting that it was 'sweaty and grungy' and that you should 'ditch your heels', but persuading followers that it was the place to be on a Thursday night.

The club's website reveals that it costs just £7 on Thursdays if you arrive before 10pm, and advertises a weekly night of jazz and blues.

We do love looking back at the Duchess of Sussex's old outfits. Or Meghan Markle as she was when she attended the 2015 CFDA Awards! Who knew then that in just a few short years, the Suits star would be married to Prince Harry?

She's worn blazer dresses on several royal engagements, but this plunging metallic number is definitely a bit more daring than the styles she wears nowadays!

It's by one of her favourite designers, Misha Nonoo. Remember THAT white 'Husband' shirt? Yep, that's her! Unfortunately it's sold out, but we have managed to track down some top notch alternatives, as well as both the Gianvito Rossi heels and Charlotte Olympia clutch bag she has accessorised with (follow the links below).

So with Meghan in mind, take a look at the metallic tux dresses we've found for you at Boohoo, Nasty Gal, PrettyLittleThing and Missguided. Bonus: they're all super budget-friendly!

Writing on her website, which was shut down in 2017 when news of her romance with Harry went public, she described her favourite haunt as a London tourist.

'The oldest ongoing club in London, this place is sweaty, grungy and happening every Thursday night, late night,' she wrote.

'They play a mix of rock'a'billy, reggae and ska. You come here to dance, not to be seen or to people watch.

'The crowd is a mix of regulars in their zoot suits, teenagers channelling Jim Morrison, red lipped tough birds in tight corsets and other randoms that pepper the evening with strange encounters and lots of laughs. Don't wear heels.'

The club was founded on the 3rd of July 1980 and was held at Gossip's on Dean Street, before moving to its current venue St Moritz in Wardour Street in November 1995.

Thursday nights are reportedly hosted by Gaz Mayall, the son of Blues singer John Mayall, who still performs at the venue with his band The Trojans.

And the club certainly makes for an affordable night out, opening its doors from 10pm to 3:30am every Thursday, and charging just £7 Before 11pm, and £9 afterwards- with £2 off for those with a student card.

In April 2017, just half a year before she would announce her engagement to Harry, Meghan revealed she was closing her lifestyle site after three years.

'After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it's time to say goodbye to The Tig,' she wrote.

'What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity.

'You've made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy,' she continued.

'Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being "the change you wish to see in the world."

'Above all, don't ever forget your worth - as I've told you time and time again: you, my sweet friend, you are enough. Thank you for everything.'

The actress signed the note 'Xx Meghan Markle', and a page featuring her letter along with a collage of images the only thing left on the site.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
