«Breaking News» Incredible moment Jeep is engulfed by a fireball after colliding head-on with tractor-trailer

A heart-stopping dashboard video taken in New Hampshire last week captured the moment a Jeep driven by an 18-year-old college student crashed head-in into a tractor-trailer and turned into a fireball, nearly killing the driver.

Luckily for Keen State College freshman Samuel LaChance, a father and son who were driving directly behind him - and whose minivan was equipped with the dashboard camera - came to his aid and helped save his life.

LaChance was driving along Route 101 in Dublin, New Hampshire, at 8.20am on January 22 en route to his college after winter break when for some reason his vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic.

John Cramer and his 18-year-old son, Marc, were following LaChance’s Jeep and saw the moment the college student's vehicle careened into a Mack truck.

The devastating impact caused the tractor-trailer’s fuel tank to explode, engulfing the Jeep in flames and sending it spinning into a guardrail.

The Cramers said they had no time to break, so their Toyota Sienna ended up driving through a wall of fire and knocking LaChance's burning Jeep out of the center of the fireball, which Marc later called 'a blessing.'

‘If it weren’t for our vehicle hitting the right front wheel, he would have burned. It was by the grace of God, really,’ Cramer told the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript. ‘If you look at the wreckage, and you look at the video of the Jeep as it was being hit, you just don’t see how someone can survive that.’

The Cramers flagged down another motorist, restaurateur Nuttapon ‘Bank’ Promploy, and together the Good Samaritans dashed through the flames to get to LaChance's mangled Jeep.

The Cramers, who had some first aid training, kept LaChance's neck stable until paramedics arrived and transported him to Massachusetts General Hospital.

LaChance, who majors graphic design at Keen State, was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury, burns and cuts, a fractured foot, and he had to have his spleen removed, reported the Ledger-Transcript.

Since the accident a week ago, the injured student has been transferred from the ICU to the Trauma Recovery Unit.

His mother, Jessica, said Samuel has been making major strides on the road to recovery, including brushing his own teeth on Monday, but he still has ways to go.

He has no recollection of the crash, she said, but he remembers the names of his family and girlfriend, and is able to talk to them.

‘Anything right now is a miracle, because he’s alive,’ said his mom.

Samuel is now breathing on his own and has had his chest tube removed, but he is still on a feeding tube.

Doctors are also keeping a close watch on brain bleeds and a tear in LaChance's carotid artery, but his mother is hopeful that within a few weeks, they would be able to transfer her son to a rehabilitation facility in Boston.

Daniel LaChance, Samuel’s father, expressed the depth of his gratitude to the Good Samaritans for putting themselves in harm’s way to save his son's life.

'I don’t think words can describe how grateful I am for their quick actions to put their own lives at risk,' he told the station CBS Boston.

The Cramers and Prompoy, who is a married father of two, were not hurt. The driver of the tractor-trailer, 66-year-old Jean Morency escaped with non-life-threatening injuries.

Morency told WHDH he has seen the dashcam video of the crash, which he called 'horrific.'

It is still unclear why LaChance’s Jeep crossed the dividing line into the path of the Mack truck.

Samuel’s mother has been offering updates on his progress on her Facebook page and promoting the hashtag #SamStrong. Early Wednesday morning, she revealed that her son suffered a momentary setback when he was overcome by panic and fear.

‘The look in his eyes was of pure terror and shook me to my core,’ Jessica LaChance wrote. ‘I know that this is to be expected. I know he will have moments like this.

‘I know that he is a miracle and has survived a horror that I can never fully understand. I continue to draw strength and hope that this too shall pass.

‘I am his momma, I will ride this rollercoaster with him through the terror and love and protect him with all that I have.’

A GoFundMe campaign that has been launched to help the LaChance family with Samuel's medical bills so far has drawn more than $3,000.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
