«Breaking News» Green Book director Peter Farrelly apologizes for inappropriate behavior

'Green Book' director Peter Farrelly has apologized after reports emerged that he liked to flash his genitals as a joke while filming.

The Cut on Wednesday published excerpts of a 1998 Newsweek story saying Farrelly and his brother and frequent film making partner Bobby Farrelly liked to use ruses to get people to look at his penis.

The acclaimed director issued a statement through his publicists saying the stories' descriptions are true.

'I was an idiot. I did this decades ago and I thought I was being funny and the truth is I'm embarrassed and it makes me cringe now. I'm deeply sorry'.

Those who told Newsweek they'd been tricked included film executive Tom Rothman and actress Cameron Diaz, who was starring in the Farrelly brothers' comedy 'There's Something About Mary' at the time.

According to Newsweek, Diaz said of the incident: 'When a director shows you his penis the first time you meet him, you've got to recognize the creative genius.

'Green Book', which stars Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortenson as a black concert pianist and his Italian-American driver who become unlikely friends, won a Golden Globe Award on Sunday for best musical or comedy film.

In another 1998 Newsweek story, film executive Tom Rothman, now chairman of Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group, recounts being 'flashed'.

'It wasn't a pretty sight. In fact, I'm still recovering,' he told the publication's reporter.

Farrelly's other credits include 'Dumb and Dumber' and 'Shallow Hal'.

The film won Best Motion Picture (Musical/Comedy), with writers Nick Vallelonga, Bryan Currie and Farrelly winning Best Screenplay.

Actor Mahershala Ali winning his first Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture for his role as famed pianist 'Doc' Don Shirley.

The movie is based on a true story about the relationship between celebrated pianist Dr. Donald Shirley, who was black, and his driver, who was white.

Critics claim that the pair's friendship was exaggerating and other details about the film have been questioned, in particular by some of Shirley's surviving relatives.

Farrelly was also nominated for Best Director but lost out to Alfonso Curaón who directed Roma.

'I hope that everybody sees this movie, and it's not talking to one side or the other. I've been asked, "What do you think of the guy in the White House?" I'm not going to answer that.

'I'll tell you why, because no matter what I say, I'm going to lose half the audience, and I want everybody to see this. I want everybody to see it, so yes, that would be a good thing.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
