A woman has been arrested on a drunk driving charge after police said she struck her boyfriend on his motorcycle with her SUV as he was heading home to see his wife.

Arizbet Vazques Contreras, 25, was arrested on Monday in Lake County, Florida and charged with manslaughter DUI in the April 1, 2018 collision that killed 37-year-old Jason Sasser.

Contreras told investigators that Sasser was her boyfriend, and that the pair had just had drinks in a nearby bar and left separately before the crash, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Sasser had just texted his wife that he was on his way home and would be there in 30 minutes. She has said she never knew about her husband's alleged affair.

Troopers said that Contreras' Ford Explorer struck Sasser's Honda Shadow at the intersection of S.R. 46 and State Road 453, pushing the motorcycle into a car also waiting for the red light to change.

Investigators say that Contreras' blood alcohol level was 0.14 per cent, above Florida's legal driving limit of 0.08.

An autopsy showed that Sasser was under the legal limit at 0.06.

Sasser was the father of two-year-old daughter and owned a moving company in Mount Dora.

On Facebook, Sasser's widow Kimberly Watters Sasser penned an anguished letter on Wednesday directly addressing Contreras.

Kimberly Watters Sasser posted the following letter to Facebook on January 30, 2019, two days after the arrest of Arizbet Vazques Contreras in the alleged drunk driving death of her husband Jason Sasser.

'A letter to the drunk driver that killed my husband...

'As you sit here awaiting your future....I hope you find comfort in that simple word 'future.' A future is something that you, your family and friends WILL HAVE no matter what decision is made.

'Jason Allen Sasser, my love, my best friend, my husband, a Daddy, had 'his future' taken away forever Easter morning.

'April 1st, 2018 was the most devastating day I have ever experienced. The pain of my loss has taken me through an emotional journey of discovering the essential truth inherent in all things surrounding his death.

'The surreal reality of being a widow has torn me apart and left me gasping for air. Everyday I'm reminded in some way of my husband's absence. We went from working as a team to all responsibility falls on me entirely. The care of our 2 year old daughter, the handling of his business, potty training, my job teaching, bills, taxes, getting sick, buying groceries, Birthdays, Holidays and Anniversary's are all sobering reminders of what my new reality without him has become.

'I can only hope that you never experience what it's like to lose a loved one in such a reckless manner. It's maddening to think that life can be physically erased so easily leaving us only with yesterday's memories.

'Your actions of Drunk driving ended my husband's life and created a giant void that our family and friends will never be able to fill.

'Your careless behavior caused the end of a loving marriage.

'Your choice to get behind the wheel also stole a 'Daddy'. I hope you never have to explain to your child that Daddy is in Heaven or hear them cry out for him desperate and confused.

'As you sit here awaiting your future....I hope you take full responsibility for what you've done. I hope in time you grow from this and strive to lead a life of consequence. I hope you find appreciation in the word 'future.' Unlike Jason- a future is something that you, your family and friends WILL HAVE no matter what decision is made.

'The surreal reality of being a widow has torn me apart and left me gasping for air. Everyday I'm reminded in some way of my husband's absence,' she said.

'I can only hope that you never experience what it's like to lose a loved one in such a reckless manner,' the widow continued. 'Your actions of Drunk driving ended my husband's life and created a giant void that our family and friends will never be able to fill.'

Contreras is charged with DUI/manslaughter, driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving.

She turned herself in to the Lake County Jail on Monday and was released an hour later after posting $12,500 bond. She could not be reached for comment.

If convicted, Contreras faces a sentence of four to 15 years in prison.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help support Sasser's young widow and child.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
