Helping Dr. Phil McGraw kick off his highly anticipated podcast, Phil in the Blanks, is his first guest, Shaquille O'Neal, one of the greatest basketball players to have ever lived
Jay Leno opened up about losing the Tonight Show and his struggles with dyslexia in his interview with Dr. Phil for his new podcast Phil in the Blanks
Actor Dax Shepard is one of the many guests viewers can expect to hear as Dr. Phil's podcast Phil in the Blanks begins its run on Tuesday
'This is completely different than the Dr. Phil show and that is why I am doing it. On the show I am always in clinical mode dealing with the problem in front of me and the story in front of me.
'This is different because I'm not solving problems. I am talking to really interesting people doing really interesting things,' Dr. Phil says of his podcast.
Dr. Phil, who is renowned for his ability to pull important and often guarded information out of people, is bringing his interviewing techniques to the forefront in Phil in the Blanks, as he tackles the tougher questions.
'I am talking to them in a way that no one is talking to them anymore,' he says of his influential guests.
With Shaq, Dr. Phil stayed away from the general basketball questions, and was able to get the NBA star and sportscaster to speak on some really hard line issues he faced growing up to eventually becoming one of the greatest players, ever.
Dr. Phil spoke to Shaq about how he was illiterate until 9th grade, how he was a bully, and how his father smacked him in the face and called him a pansy in front of his team.
'I wanted to hear about what drives him, and what makes him tick,' Dr. Phil says of the eyeopening interview that includes how Shaq and fellow NBA great Charles Barkley were finally able to put their longstanding feud to rest.
He also spoke to award winning actress Kathy Bates on the difficult topic of how she beat breast cancer and is now once again at the top of her game.
'I talked to Leno about how he struggled with dyslexia. We also talked about when they took the Tonight Show away from him, and his his inner most private thoughts about that. It is those kinds of things that these people just don't get asked.'
The Phil in the Blanks podcast also has a video component to it, in which Dr. Phil will be posting clips from his shows to social media.
He says that listeners will be able to also find his talks with experts such as Pamela Meyer, who zeros in on the real way to tell if someone is lying to you.
Dr. Phil says he wants the podcasts to be an easily searchable place where people who are looking for help on a subject can come and tune into what fits their needs.
He assures listeners there will be podcasts where he is his own guest, helping them on how to navigate difficult subjects.
He says people can expect topics like divorce, doctors and drug use to be covered by him and other experts in the fields.
Dr. Phil interviews are across the spectrum for Phil in the Blanks from award winning actress Kathy Bates to journalist Megyn Kelly (left and right)
He says thus far he has done about 35 podcasts with a real overall goal in mind.
'I am trying to unlock the secrets to peoples' success with the amazing journey through their lives.'
Listeners can hear a new podcast every Tuesday anywhere podcasts are aired from iTunes to Google Play, Stitcher and more.
Once listeners hit the subscribe button, as soon as the new podcast drops there is an alert for it.
Dr. Phil adds that he and Oprah Winfrey, whose podcasts include Super Soul Conversations, are also teaming up to cross promote each other's podcasts during their own shows.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
