«Breaking News» Cristiano Ronaldo sells Cheshire mansion he lived in while playing at Manchester United for £3.25m

Football star Cristiano Ronaldo has sold the Cheshire mansion he lived in while playing for Manchester United - for £645,000 less than he had bought it for in 2008.

Ronaldo, 33, paid £3,895,000 for the five-bedroom property in Alderley Edge, a hotspot for Premier League footballers.

However, the superstar, now playing in Italy with Juventus, has sold the house for just £3,250,000.

Ronaldo bought the three-floor house just a year before signing for Spanish giants Real Madrid.

It features a large swimming pool, hot tub and steam room as well as a gym, cinema and games room.

Some reports claim that the Portuguese international first tried to sell the mansion in 2009, but was unable to find a buyer.

Since 2014, Manchester United and England defender Luke Shaw has rented the property, paying £7,000-a-month.

However, Ronaldo put the property on the market for permanent sale a week before Christmas, according to Rightmove.

Ronaldo hit the headlines recently after police in Las Vegas issued a warrant to obtain his DNA following claims he raped a woman in the US city nine years ago.

Former school teacher Kathryn Mayorga claims that the Juventus forward raped her at his Las Vegas hotel room in June 2009 and since going public with her case this year, Ronaldo has faced intense scrutiny.

Police said in a statement that an official request has been submitted to Italian authorities for a DNA sample from the player.

Ronaldo has continuously refuted the allegations, despite a £287,000 hush-money payment to Ms Mayorga in 2010, saying that the sex was consensual.

Back in early October, Ronaldo - who had been silent until then, tweeted to say he firmly denied the claims.

'I firmly deny the accusations being issued against me. Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that I am and believe in.

'Keen as I may be to clear my name, I refuse to feed the media spectacle created by people seeking to promote themselves at my expense,' he said.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
