«Breaking News» American defense contractor in Iraq DIES after he was 'pummeled into unconsciousness' by Marines

An American contractor stationed in Iraq for defense firm Lockheed Martin has died after it is believed he was assaulted by members of the United States military.

Rick Rodriguez, a former Army Green Beret who served with the military for 20 years, was removed from life support at a hospital in Germany on Friday - a decision made by his family.

His wife and four children were flown by the military from their home in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Germany after Rodriguez was transferred from Iraq to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, a relative told The Daily Beast.

Numerous sources told the news site that Rodriguez was severely injured during a brawl with U.S. Marines.

Military sources said that investigators are focusing their attention on two gunnery sergeants who are believed to be persons of interest in Rodriguez’s death.

‘Lockheed Martin was saddened to learn of the loss of one of our employees, who was fatally injured while supporting Special Operations Forces within the Operation Inherent Resolve area of operations in a non-combat related incident,’ a company spokesperson said Monday.

‘We are supporting the Naval Criminal Investigation Service as they conduct an investigation into the circumstances of his death.

‘Our thoughts are with his family and friends, and we are committed to supporting them during this difficult time.’

There are conflicting accounts of how the incident unfolded.

The Daily Beast reported that one source claimed it began as an altercation in a gym in the Iraqi town of Erbil.

Another said that the fight began during a shooting competition.

Whatever the case may be, a disagreement led to a physical altercation involving a group of military enlistees.

Rodriguez was left pummeled to the point of unconsciousness, the web site reported.

Military investigators said they plan on interviewing multiple witnesses who saw what took place.

‘We really don’t know what happened or what’s going on,’ Rodriguez’s aunt, who lives in California, said.

This is just the latest high-profile investigation launched by NCIS into alleged fratricide within the military.

Last year, two Navy SEALs and two Marines were charged in the strangulation death of an Army Green Beret while they were stationed in the African country of Mali.

Staff Sgt Logan Melgar, 34, died from asphyxiation on June 4 after two members of SEAL Team Six allegedly broke into his room while he was sleeping, bound him with duct tape and 'choked him out', according to charging documents.

Melgar was pronounced dead at a French clinic in Bamako, Mali, where the SEALs told investigators he'd been involved in a drunken accident during combat training - though an autopsy revealed he had no drugs or alcohol in his system at the time of his death.

The names were redacted on charging documents released Thursday, but a 2017 Army Criminal Investigation Command report identified the SEALs involved in the incident as Petty Officer Antony DeDolph and Chief Petty Officer Adam Cranston Matthews.

The Navy said in a statement that the service members face charges that include murder, hazing and obstruction of justice.

The service members are also accused of lying to Navy commanders and investigators about what happened.

Two Special Operation sources told the Daily Beast that Melgar discovered the pair of SEALs were skimming off of the top of the dirty military money to keep for themselves.

When he confronted them about it, sources say the pair told Melgar they could get him a cut of the money in return for his silence. He allegedly refused.

Chief Special Warfare Operator Edward R. Gallagher, 39, has been charged with premediated murder and numerous other offenses in connection with the fatal stabbing of a teenage Islamic State prisoner under his care in Iraq in 2017, along with the shooting of unarmed Iraqi civilians.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
