Turner was a standout player at St John Bosco High School in Bellflower and spent one year at Long Beach City College before he joined the Cal football team in 2017.

He redshirted for a year with the team before playing in his first game this season.

'We are so deeply saddened by Bryce's passing,' Cal football coach Justin Wilcox said in a statement.

'This is an extremely difficult day for everyone. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Bryce's family, friends, teammates and so many others who have been a part of his life.'

'No words can accurately describe the pain we feel in our hearts right now. We'll always remember Bryce and how he impacted all of us with Cal football.'

Cal athletic director Jim Knowlton said Turner was a 'young man with a bright future'.

'Our hearts are broken with this unimaginable tragedy,' Knowlton said in a statement.

'His life was taken far too soon, and he will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bryce's family, friends, teammates and coaches during this difficult time.'

'We will do all that we can to support each other, his family, our students, and the entire Cal community through the grieving process.'

Traveon Beck, who played with Turner at both St John Bosco and UC Berkeley, also wrote a tribute to his friend.

'Man, tears won't stop falling as I type this,' Beck tweeted. 'Words can't explain how I feel, but I love you brother.'

'Never would I have thought I'd have to bury one of my best friends. See you in heaven.'

Turner's death comes nearly five years after fellow Cal football player Ted Agu died during an off-season conditioning workout with the team. He was just 21 years old.

UC Berkeley admitted liability for the death as Cal doctors and coaches knew Agu carried the sickle cell trait, a blood abnormality that can lead to death under extreme exertion.

The school paid Agu's family $4.75million in the settlement for a wrongful death lawsuit.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
