«Breaking News» Seth Meyers under fire for 'Late Night' Twitter joke about victims murdered by illegal immigrants

Late night host Seth Meyers was slammed by his former network colleague Megyn Kelly who called him out for a tweet posted to his show's Twitter that appeared to mock victims murdered by illegal immigrants.

The tweet, posted Tuesday, was in response to President Donald Trump's speech about border security on Tuesday night, during which he mentioned several cases in which American citizens were allegedly killed by people who had entered the country illegally.  

The 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' account, which is most likely not run by the host, wrote: 'Is this Oval Office: SVU?' 

Megyn Kelly, the former NBC colleague of Meyers', replied to the tweet saying: 'I'm sure that's hysterical to the families of the murder victims the president just discussed.'

Comedian Seth Meyers has came under fire from his former NBC colleague Megyn Kelly for a tweet posted on the 'Late Night' Twitter account on Tuesday night that appeared to mock victims murdered by illegal immigrants. The tweet received thousands of responses, most of them calling out the account for being insensitive by comparing the address to the crime show 'Law and Order: Special Victims Unit'. 

One Twitter user wrote: 'Why don't you ask the families of those raped and murdered? I doubt they will find your joke funny though, may not want to crack anymore with them around.' 

Another echoed: 'I've always enjoyed your humor but this is offensive. Fine if you don't want the wall but please don't make jokes about victims & their families. 

'No one deserves to die and if they do, we can honor their memories. You're nothing short of a disgrace for forgetting that.' 

Thousands of users, including former NBC host Megyn Kelly and Fox News personality Greg Gutfeld, replied to the tweet to call out the callous comparison between Trump's speech and 'Law and Order: Special Victims Unit'. Several of the tweets are pictured above

One person wrote: 'Wonder if you'd make the same statement if you lost someone dear to you? #sad'  

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld wrote: 'just wondering if there was anything less funny than seth meyers - turns out, it's his twitter feed.'

Trump spoke for nine minutes from the Oval Office of the White House on Tuesday, shaming congressional Democrats as he blamed them for bloodshed caused by illegal immigrants

During his nine-minute address, Trump referenced California cop Ronil Singh, who was allegedly shot and killed by illegal immigrant Gustavo Perez Arriaga on December 26.

'America's heart broke the day after Christmas when a young police officer was savagely murdered in cold blood by an illegal alien who just came across the border,' he said. 

'The life of an American hero was stolen by someone who had no right to be in our country.'

The president continued: 'Day after day, precious lives are cut short by those who have violated our borders. 

'In California an Air Force veteran was raped, murdered, and beaten to death with a hammer by an illegal alien with a long criminal history. 

'In Georgia an illegal alien was recently charged with murder for killing, beheading and dismembering his neighbor. 

'In Maryland, MS-13 gang members who arrived in the United States as unaccompanied minors were arrested and charged last year after viciously stabbing and beating a 16-year-old girl.

'Over the last several years I've met with dozens of families whose loved ones were stolen by illegal immigrants. I have held the hands of the mothers and embraced the grief stricken fathers. So sad, so terrible. I will never forget the pain in their eyes, the tremble in their voices and the sadness gripping their souls.

'How much more American blood must we shed before Congress does its job?

'To those that refuse to compromise in the name of border security, I would ask: imagine if it was your child, your husband, or your wife whose life was so cruelly shattered and totally broken. 

'To every member of Congress, pass a bill that ends this crisis. To every citizen: call congress, and tell them to finally, after all of these decades, secure our border.

'This is a choice between right and wrong, justice and injustice. This is about whether we fulfill our sacred duty to the American citizens we serve.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
