Oprah Winfrey is giving a nod to breakthrough Democratic potential presidential contender Beto O'Rourke by including him in a live TV special from Times Square.
O'Rourke lost his race against GOP Sen. Ted Cruz, but his tough challenge made liberals swoon and he raised more than $80 million. He emerged as a top tier potential contender for 2020, at least as far as early polls are concerned.
Now he'll get a platform far away from Texas – at the center of the 'New York values' that Cruz slammed during the 2016 campaign only to apologize later.
He will be part of an Oprah special to air on the Oprah Winfrey Network Feb. 5.

Celebrities taking part include Bradley Cooper and Michael B. Jordan. Philanthropist Melinda Gates also will participate.
The interview at the PlayStation Theater will O'Rourke's first chance to take questions since his election loss.
The interview is likely to play better than a video O'Rourke posted on Instagram of himself getting a dental cleaning. He shared the video as part of a campaign to talk to people on the U.S.-Mexico border.
'So, I'm here with Diana, my dental hygienist,' O'Rourke says to kick off the video he posted on Instagram, where he has 750,000 followers.

The clip shows O'Rourke wearing a protective green bib as Diana cleans his pearly whites with a polishing tool. She says she was born in O'Rourke's hometown of El Paso, and is the daughter of a Mexican immigrant.
Winfrey is credited with providing a big boost to Barack Obama's campaign. Her endorsement of him in Iowa helped him overtake rival Hillary Clinton.
In 2016, although she declared 'I'm with her' and talked up Clinton, she didn't stage campaign events or rallies. Clinton lost.
O'Rourke drew enthusiastic national support during his failed Senate run
Winfrey's name came up as a potential 2020 herself after her impassioned speech at the Golden Globes.
The event featuring O'Rourke is titled: 'Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations from Times Square.'
According to a released from the Oprah Winfrey Network: 'In one-on-one conversations, Winfrey will discuss how each of the guests created an impact and shifted the conversation in their respective fields of entertainment, politics and culture in the last year.
Although the release stops short of an endorsement, it includes O'Rourke among 'inspiring thought leaders, modern day influencers and social game changers' of the program.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
